Default Tofu

Question for you:

When you're making dinner, are you looking for an exact protein amount OR oz amount? 8oz of tofu isn't 15g of protein, so I'm wondering if I need to add more tofu or just stick to the 8oz.

My coach told me 8 oz of tofu. That is all I know about it.

I found this:

So, its 30g of protein for your dinner. If it needs to be more than 8oz thats fine! GOOD TO KNOW

I am so excited you shared this! I LOVE tofu and didn't even think about it being IP friendly before your post! How are you preparing it to stay OP?

I grill it with Amino Acids, make it into meatballs by mixing it with turkey (last nights dinner), stir fry (tonights dinner )

I've never used amino acids. I usually stir fry. I'll have to try that Thanks!

I am a little confused but curious as I am vegetarian and frequently use tofu as my protein meal. What is/are "amino acids" when used to prepare tofu? (I know what amino acids are but am confused by the context here).

Default Tofu Recipe

I just invented a new recipe for tofu that I think is WOW!
Try it and let me know what you think.

Gourmet Tofu Mélange

1 C fresh cabbage, chopped
1 C fresh asparagus, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 T extra virgin olive oil
1-2 T fresh lemon zest
2 T fresh thyme
2 T fresh oregano
¼ C soy sauce
8 oz Tofu

Sauté garlic, cabbage and asparagus in olive oil until vegetables are soft. Add lemon zest, thyme, oregano and soy sauce. Stir to coat vegetables. Add tofu and heat on medium-low until soy sauce is slightly reduced and tofu is heated through.

I will sometimes use Braggs Amino Acids to give the tofu a little extra flavor (slice, press, marinate in Braggs, bake or stir fry).

Braggs Liquid Aminos is a type of soy sauce. Here's a link:

8oz is NOT enough protein. See the protein amount on the nutrition label and adjust accordingly.

I was told not to have tofu more than twice a week or so... does anyone have any experience with having it everyday? Something about digestion... I was sad to hear that because roasted tofu in a frying pan with soy sauce until crispy is so good that I could easily eat the whole brick (but I don't of course )

I don't eat it everyday. I probably have it a few times a week and haven't noticed any ndigestion issues. Because tofu has carbs, I try not to have restricteds on the days I have tofu.
