Smile Struggling to eat ENOUGH

Okay, so.. my coach told me I should be eating about 800 calories a day with IP. Well, I just calculated the last few days, and it seems I'm anywhere between 250-500 calories.. and I'm STUFFED. I don't know what else to eat/how to get more calories in with this diet. I don't want to eat too few calories, because then I'll just slow my metabolism way down.

Suggestions of how to get more calories packed into my day?! I never thought I'd have to ask that question...

Just follow your sheet, there should be no worrying about calories or carbs if you have your 3 IP packets, 4 cups veggies, and 8oz protein every day. Make sure to eat all your food!

Yes, just stick to your sheet. Have three packets per day, 4 cups of veggies, and 8 ounces meat. If you are concerned you can eat up to 2 egg whites a day (I use eggbeaters) as a filler along with all the lettuce you want. When you are first starting out, the first week or two, you are allowed to have an extra non-restricted packet a day. We are also allowed to have 1 ounce of skim milk with our coffee or tea in the morning, have a cup with some milk.
If you are having a hard time getting your veggies in because you are stuffed try mixing some in to a shake.

Hmmm... Are you sure you are calculating right? Do your calculations include the food that you are adding to your diet? The IP foods alone should be minimum 250 calories. Are you eating a restricted food? Those foods are an easy way to add more calories. I calculated calories for a day or two and they were both over 1100 calories. I agree with you, I wouldn't want to eat too few calories either.

8 ounces of chicken breast have 250 calories, which is pretty much the leanest meat.
8 ounces of beef tenderloin has 560 calories.

Here is an example:
chocolate pudding = 100 cal.
omelette = 140
1 restricted (cookie) = 180
2 tsp. oil = 80
I eat a lot of salmon, so for example:
8 oz. of atlantic salmon = 415 calories

915 calories before the veggies
2 cups of broccoli = 108 calories
2 cups of spinach =28 calories

1051 calories/day (not including lettuce, which adds a few more cals)
*My coach has me on 4 IP products (because I was losing too much muscle), so add another 100 to that for a total of 1,151 calories for an average day.

I hear the fruit juices aren't filling plus consider juicing roasted veggies. Once you roast 2 cups of veggies, they become a much smaller volume. If you drink them, it may go down faster and feel less filling also. Might try eating fish for your protein too - again less filling. (Note: I do roast pans of veggies every week (approx 10 cups of raw veggies at a time) and then puree to a thick puree, add it to my soups at lunch - I love this so much, I think I will keep up with this after IP.)

This isn't a problem I've ever had, so cannot relate, but empathize. It has to be awful to want to lose weight and not be able to follow the protocol.

Good luck & let us know how it goes.

what I find strange is FOLLOWING protocol (not everyone eats the same items for supper for example... beef vs chicken) and having such a diff in the amt of calories. I dont think it does state anywhere in the protocol to ensure to reach a certain # of calories per day, just to follow the chart.
