I was doing great, I started the Boot Camp Challenge, an exercise routine that is based on how you are trained in the army, which really spoke to me since I am the daughter of two army veterans. I was moving along nicely, until Wednesday. After my workout I went for a walk for about an hour and a half to do some shopping (the benefits of not having a car), and by the time I got home I noticed my ankles were a bit sore. I didn't think much of it, put some Icy Hot on it, and watched a movie on Netflix. When it was over, I sat up and while standing up had EXCRUCIATING pain in my ankles and knees. It just got worse from there.
Yesterday was bad, but bearable, but after going to work which entails standing for about 7 hours on a concrete floor on a foam pad which does pretty much nothing, I almost collapsed by the end of the day. As soon as I got home I took off my boots (which were probably holding me up since they are a hiking-type thing that come up over the ankle) I noticed my ankles were very swollen. I was up most of last night tossing and turning because they hurt so bad.
This morning is pretty bad, taking 3 ibuprofen and am going to probably go back to sleep before I have to get up for work at 10.
I did some research, and probably messed up my joints from jogging. It just makes me feel awful about myself. It was circuit training. At most I jogged for 2mins at a time. I felt AWESOME. I was short of breath, sure, but I felt so great afterwards, my calves didn't even burn anymore!! But that was too much? I'm really that fat that I can't jog for at most 6mins a day, not even all at once??
I just feel really bad about myself. I should be doing the next part now, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Any weight on my ankles and I feel like I'm going to die. I had to go up and down the stairs this morning to say goodbye to my boyfriend, clinging to the rail for dear life, in so much pain.
WHAT DID I DO TO MYSELF?
When this gets better, should I exercise with ace bandages on my feet or something? I'm going to replace the jogging in place with marching in place when I resume my 3x a week workouts on Monday. (as long as I'm not in pain by then)
What is a safe weight to start jogging again, since apparently it's too much right now?
I'm just so mad and frustrated, I'm sorry.
yup that about sums up how I'm feeling.
And to add to it, my weight jumped from 268->270. Not a big deal normally but it isn't helping. I understand it happens. But still.
