A few months back I bought myself a pretty day planner. While I don't track calories, I'm mindful, watch my portions, and write down everything I eat in that planner. It also has a pocket in the back just the right size for my TOPS weekly weight tracker book. It's been a huge help with the reboot of my weight loss plan, keeping me mindful and accountable.
Two days ago, I decided to buy sheets of shiny star stickers. Every time I feel great about the choices I've made for the day, I add a sticker next to the date.
I believe all this is helping me shift my focus away from the difficult long-term (weight loss) to an easier, more managable short-term (healthier living every day).
I want to make every day sticker-worthy! How about you?
What a great idea! Everyone loves stickers! Isn't it funny how something so small makes such a difference in our outlook? You are such a positive person and your outlook is always so upbeat. I admire how well you've done. Keep up the great work.
Me too!! i am so motivated by gold stars. For me, its for workouts. And I get a sticker for 1 rest day per week. On days that I do 2 things, like a swim and then a bike ride, I get 2 stickers. They really work for me!
I love this idea. I did something similar a few years back when I decided to eat healthier. I'd give myself a little sticker for drinking all my water and eating on plan. I think I'll give this another try. Thanks!
I'm a highlighter nerd. I use a Franklin Planner for work, and I color the heck out of the monthly calendar. Yellow star for making the daily average calorie target, big purple star on Friday if I make the weekly calorie target, and orange stars for days with 20 minutes or more of deliberate activity. Highest and lowest weights of the week get pink and green underlines. Poor July was a rainbow!
