I am starting a food log, to pay closer attention to what I'm eating since I have introduced starches and fruit into my diet. I am on phase two and have reviewed the "Emergency Handbook" and "revised food list" threads.
Here is what I came up:
Protein - unlimited
Veggies - 5cup/day minimum goal (I know 4 1/2 but I'm aiming for 5)
Dairy - 2 cups/day max
Fruit - 1 serving/day max
Starch - 1 serving/day max
I'm going to print some pages and keep them in a binder. Here is how I have it set-up, hope this comes through right LOL
Protein (unlimited)
Veggies 1 cup 1 cup 1 cup 1 cup 1 cup
Fat 1 Tbsp 1 Tbsp 1 Tbsp
Dairy 1 cup 1 cup
Fruit 1 serving
Starch 1 serving
Sweet Trt 1 serving
I want to be able to check off as I go along. Kind of like a WW food log, for those who have also been on WW.
And the questions...
1. How would I categorize nuts? I know they are a protein but they are also limited to 1 serving per day, so do they need their own category?
2. Is salad dressing a fat?
3. How do I categorize cheese? Under dairy it says milk and yogurt, so where does cheese go on my checklist?
4. How about other condiments like lemon juice, soy sauce and the like?
Thanks in advance!!

Nuts are a protein, but because they are high in fat and calories, your portion is limited. I would keep them in the Protein category, just remember not to overindulge.
Salad dressing would be a Fat because of the oil or mayonnaise in it.
Cheese is considered Protein, not a Dairy.
Condiments such as lemon juice, soy sauce, etc., are freebies.
