Default May Housekeeping Thread!

I figured if there was one for April....might as well be one for May, right?
So, what is on your housekeeping list for the month?

This Week
-clean kitchen floor
-wipe down kitchen counters
-go through fridge

Month of May
-go through closet for donation stuff
-get doors for my ikea bookshelf (and install them)
-Go through my two (or three?) "junk" baskets that have been collecting...well, junk.

I am so glad I have my 17 year old who I pay weekly to do the chores. On top of my very busy schedule the last thing I want to do is clean.

I just finished cleaning my room... well the floor of my room cause I didn't have room to walk! All of my clothes were laying on the floor because I freaked out about a recent interview (I got the job btw ) and I didn't know what to wear so everything ended up being on the floor. As I was folding I realized that if I get to my goal weight I might be able to donate alot of the clothes to people in need!

I really hate housework and do it with a really sour taste in my mouth, resenting every minute that I spend on it that I could well use to do something else. However, with Spring here I do see the need to take down the curtains and wash them. That also means the tops of pelmets, cupboard, the fridge and under the washer and other white appliances all need to be scrubbed and polished. Spring cleaning .....

Maybe I will do it tomorrow.....

Well, I got my weekly goals accomplished!
Clean kitchen floor: check!
wipe down counters: check!
go through fridge: check!

And I did two loads of laundry, though neither is folded/hung up and put away yet.

This will have to be a light week....between work & school I'm a little swamped.
Week
-Vacuum
-clean out the microwave (roommate hasn't been using the cover for dishes....it's so gross. yuck)
-put away laundry
-put orange peels down disposal so kitchen smells nice

Month of May Stays the same pretty much.
-go through closet for donation stuff
-get doors for my ikea bookshelf (and install them)
-Go through my two (or three?) "junk" baskets that have been collecting...well, junk.

OK so I needed my kitchen faucet to be replaced and the repair guy also unscrewed, rinsed out my bathroom aerator (the spray thing). But...he was kind of gross and had to go right away, so I'm kind of grossed out with my bathroom aerator now - do you think its OK? Am I being paranoid? I guess most of us never know who set up our sinks so...maybe its alright haha. Being a semi-germophobe is hard =(
Well I guess it doesn't matter because this weekend I will get a wrench and do it again myself because I don't think it was screwed tightly enough.
Also I was going to have a maid come in but instead I got a facial so I won't, I'll just do the cleaning myself. I live in a 700 sq ft apt so I need to get up off my lazy BUM!

oh yay glad someone else got it going

I've been attacking boxes over here and very distracted!

but for this week the bedrooms bathrooms, hallway and foyer got the usual clean AND the bookshelves got a deep clean. # bags going out in trash and I'm sorting through 3 bags of clothes to launder and give away.

go me!

Just found this thread, and glad I did! I need accountability for cleaning.

I've been off work for 3 months and start a job next Friday, so I want this place spotless. It's only me and 2 dogs (1 sheds terribly-ugh) and it's not too big. I got a lot done over the 3 months, but not as much as I should have, it should already be spotless, and isn't

So my list for the next week:
1) Clean master bathroom, top to bottom
2) Kitchen: wash and steam floor, wipe down cabinet doors, clean oven (!) and fridge
3) Hang curtains in bedroom

Thanks for starting this!
