Question Anyone else do this?

So TOM just ended yesterday and I was really hoping for that "woosh" i usually get but it never came. Instead I actually weigh a pound more. It's really demotivating because I actually did really good during TOM and resisted cravings for bad things etc. So I was just wondering if anyone else does this? Lose weight during their period and gain a bit back after. Or maybe the woosh is still to come? *cross fingers* It's just depressing to be back at 202 again. I feel like I've been there forever and 201 is just that much closer to onederland. argh. i just need some encouraging words and maybe some ppl who have experienced the same thing.

You may have still not released all liquid from your body and the whoosh may still come. I wouldn't stress and I would stay on plan.

Maybe your body is still holding on to the water weight or something? I am experiencing the same thing currently from my TOM last week and admittedly, I gave in a few times to my cravings but nothing that should make me gain a pound. Remember, about 3500 calories equals a pound- I'm sure you did not eat that much which is why I said it may be water weight.

You will see 199 in no time!!! Just keep going and drink more water to flush out the water weight.

I don't get a whoosh during TTOM or after TTOM. I might relose what I already gained for TTOM, but I never get a new low - ever. That happens for me about 4 days after ovulation until TTOM. The rest of the month? Nada.

I rarely if ever get a PM-whoosh! It kind of blows. I always gain about a lb or so and never whoosh it off u til a few days after at which point it's not really a whoosh but a normal loss. Who can figure hormones and water retention, eh?! Stick with it! It will come off!

I also get the "whoosh"...but I do find I have to up my water for a couple days right after TOM. It's often about a 3 lb. loss. I can't lose much between ovulation and TOM so I really look forward to that whoosh!

There are some months when it takes me over a week to get rid of the water weight.

TOM is all over the place for me. If you look at my daily weigh in (link in my sig) you can see that that on the first 2 days I lost weight and then put on 2 pounds. Nearly finished so we'll see but I don't generally have a whoosh.. it's quite gradual anyway. Although this is only the second month I've been losing/weighing in daily. I had the same sort of thing too. I had finally gotten under 160 before TOM and today I was 160.8.. ahhhh! Feel better

I personally have never had a 'whoosh'. I just plan on not losing any weight during that week (I never am able to lose, but my goal is pretty much to maintain with the my regular foods and activity... and try to curb the cravings). :-P

Thanks guys its reassuring to know that it could still happen and that if it doesn't at least I'm not the only one that doesn't get a whoosh!

Unicorn67 - I had wondered if drinking lots of water would help. I've read other articles about how drinking more water helps get rid of water weight so I think I'll try that!

novangel - some people when TOM is over will suddenly lose a few pounds from water weight. TOM makes you retain water and when its over some people lose that water weight which is what we're calling the "whoosh" lol

I don't get that woosh either. Lately I've actually been avoiding weighing myself during or just after TOM, I don't want to get depressed when it's unnecessary. Plus, I allow myself a few treats during TOM because otherwise I'd probably go insane

I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you. Periods f your body over big time.
I'm on the 2nd day of my period now and I apparently am 199.5 which I should be thrilled about since I couldn't wait to get under 200. BUT, since I'm on my period I'm not hedging my bets until it's done and over with. We're basically the same weight and height and apparently have pretty close period cycles lol, so don't worry you'll get there! You are probably still holding some water, so hopefully it will be gone in the next day or two.

I'm right there with you. I'm hovering at 201 and dying to get to 199, but of course here comes TOM to stop me in my tracks. Im so close, but I'm not holding my breath on getting there this week.
Good luck!
