I hate when I don't see a weight change. It's been at least 3 weeks. I am staying at 158-160. It's TOM now, but I usually come down a little during and after. I have been eating around 1500 calories a day, sometimes a little less. I do at least 30 minutes of exercise a day. I started some low impact areobics the other day...but seriously! what gives!?
Don't get me wrong I am happy I am down to 158, but I am staying there. It sucks. I wanna see my scale come down at least one pound a week! How in the world do you get through these times?
I am exactly your height... I just had this conversation with my husband how I get suck at 8's and 3's. Right now I am stuck at 148 (146-149)
I basically started around 170 pounds, just where you started at... I went down to 158 pretty quick and then I hit a wall for 6 weeks. BUT I kept shedding inches. Measure yourself. That was the only thing that kept me going.
And hopefully after TOM leaves you will have a nice drop. -- The week after TOM is usually the only week I shed some pounds Then the rest of the month I struggle to maintain that loss.
I am right where you are! I guess we need to be more stubborn than the scale and stick to our plan. Eventually, our dedication will win and the scale will go down!
Wow that's cool that we are about the same. So did you just continue to do your normal exercise routine and same eating habits and it eventually came off? I just wondered if I need to add some more exercising or just keep on doing what I am doing and wait it out. I'm not giving up, but I don't want to be "stuck" here forever. I know my body has to eventually give in lol.
How many calories were you eating a day? and how much exercise? I can't overdo it because I have fibromyalgia.
Thanks for your support!!! You give me hope!
I seem to tweak my eating all the time I have ceiliac, therefore all grain is out. I have tried staying away from gluten free products because they are high in calories etc.
Even if I change my approach, the basics stay the same; I eat 1200-1600 calories per day. Lean meats, fish, monosaturated fats, lots of veggies, fruit, nuts and seeds. I usually give myself one splurge day per week. I keep my protein intake on higher side and carbs 80 or less.
I walk 6 times per week, and I just added upper body toning 3 x week. (I have lupus, so I know how hard it is to exercise at times).
3FC website has kept me going! I have wanted to quit so many times. Lots of good peeps here, and ton of great advise and support.
Do you use anything for tracking? I use myfitnesspal.com
I have an app on my phone for my calories and exercises. I have started the leslie Sansone walk at home workouts, I really like them. It's low impact but it gets ya sweating pretty good. It's good for my fibro since it's low impact. I found some of her workouts on youtube, they are split into about 12 minutes each.
Thanks for your response. Someone I worked with had lupus too, all these autoimmune things can be hard to deal with. It's great that you have lost weight.
Now I do like to eat sandwiches for lunch. I eat whole grain bread, and sometimes I hit subway, so I am eating bread there too. Instead of chips I usually eat some carrots or something like that. Another thing is I am not a big drinker, so it's hard for me to get in a few bottles of water a day. I think at the most it's 2 16 oz bottles.
I am not big on water either, but if I gulp down my 64 oz min per day, I always end up losing weight. My goal for this month was to concentrate on water intake, and I have actually done quite well.
I started drinking decaf green tea iced or I add things like lemon, cucumber etc to my water to trick the taste.
from my personal experience it's best to switch up the routine or pick up the pace
you say you walk 30 mins a day (which is awesome!). Track how many miles that is for you and the next day try and go maybe a block further in the same time, start small but come to your edge. Or try something new! Swimming should be doable for you and will switch the way you're working the muscles in your body and the fat around them.
Also, if you don't wanna mess with your calorie amount I try and switch up the type of food, like increase my protein rich calories or try and cut out the carbs/cheese/whatever for a week.
Again all just from my personal experience! Hope that helps!
I always get stuck at 158..hopefully I'll never be back there again. I have to cut my carbs/calories down fairly low to get through that plateau. When I lose, then I end up having a whoosh down to like 155. I was stuck at 158 forever though!
