Default 13lbs in the First Week?
I started Medifast a week ago and weighed this morning. A 13lb loss! Its really exciting but a little worrying because I know you're only "supposed" to lose 2-5lbs a week. How much did you lose your first week? Does my age have to do with it (I'm 20)?

You will lose more the first 2 weeks - see the sticky at the top of the page. It's mostly water that your body is releasing as you burn up your stored glycogen. It is certainly possible to lose 13 pounds the first week, but I think that is unusual. I lost 11 pounds total the 1st 2 weeks. I would not expect nearly as much lost this coming week.

Yes, Medifast says you can lose 2-5 pounds a week - I can only hit 4 pounds if I am exactly on plan, with NO optional snacks or condiments. I'm not very happy living that way, so I usually lose 1.5-2 pounds a week.

As of Friday I had lost 4 more pounds. I was at about the same rate of loss week one. I guess I'll see how week 2 went on Monday. =]

Weeks two and three went great! I am starting Week 4 and have lost 20lbs so far!

Congratulations! That's amazing.

I am apparently going to be the tortoise.

8.6 pounds in 3 weeks. I'm on the daily nutrition, maybe that's why?
