Default Mostly dresses for summer?

I'm noticing in the malls and in the outlet shops and even at the secondhand shops there are TONS of options for summer dresses. I picked up a couple summer dresses at TJMaxx recently (for summer) and just now came back from a local consignment shop with like 10 spring/summer dresses. I'm looking at the sheer number of dresses I've gotten and I'm realizing that I could go nearly 2 weeks without re-wearing any of them. I simply love how they look!

Is it weird to wear almost all dresses in spring/summer? Most are knee length or a bit shorter (but not terribly mini).

I think dresses are very trendy this summer. I don't think I have ever seen so many dresses in stores like this spring.

I already bought a few and plan on buying some more too.

Go ahead and wear them as much as you want I would say. I know I will!

It's funny you should say that. I just went to go pick my son up at HS this afternoon. It's a hot day today, so the summer stuff is coming out. I don't think I saw one pair of shorts on girls - all skirts or dresses (and of course mini).

Feels great? Doesn't it?

I know... I was trying on swimsuits at the swim store in the mall. I told the gal I had recently lost weight and wanted a nice suit for summer. She asked how much and I said "well, all together 105, but most recently 85". She was young (and a bit chubby) and her eyes got big and she said, "And you look good!" Felt great to finally go into a store like that and not feel like the "thing that doesn't belong". I didn't even need the size large bottoms - go figure!

Insanely great :-)

I know most people can't believe how much weight you can lose. Good thing! I wouldn't want to look like I lost 70lbs!

I am still stunned and sometimes struggling with the fact that I am "normal" now. I am fighting over the most common sizes with everybody else now ;-) but have to remind myself that I don't need to grab the larger sizes.

I made myself promise to try on stuff I would never wear. Like a shorter skirt or a more revealing top. So whenever I try something on I am interested it, I have to bring at least one "outrageous" piece to the dressing room. Kind of like actively trying to get out of my comfort zone (i.e. jeans and T-shirt). Lots of times I find stuff that I can wear but never even dared to think about.

I love wearing dresses and would wear them every day if I had enough. I'm so glad that seems to be the trend this summer.

That is awesome and I have made a goal for myself to try to wear more dresses this summer! I usually never wear dresses bcuz I'm self conscious but I'm going to definitely try this time

I also can't wait to wear them--especially sundresses! I agree about the size perception josey. I still have pretty thick thighs, but my hips are really small, so my size six jeans are already getting lose. Feels BIZZARE.

I am really not liking how I look in summer dresses......a beached whale with a couch sized slip cover thrown over it. :/ I love them.....but it seems that even if they are larger in size they are still made to fit smaller sized people.....totally accentuate the wrong areas and not the right ones. Maybe I am just too critical of myself but I am the one I need to please. And right now, I am not a happy camper with clothes.

I love dresses, especially in the summer! I had to take up half of my daughter's large closet with my summer dresses. I probably have 30

Berry, what style of dresses are you finding you like? You and I have similar body types/weight so I am curious.
My problem with sundresses is that most of them have spaghetti straps that don't look particularly great with wide bra straps (no way I can go braless or even strapless bra). And then there is the issue of finding dresses to fit my boobs period. This year will probably be different, but I remember last year it was horrible trying to find dresses.

No spaghetti straps on me. Mostly sleeveless, light jersey with big fun prints. The spring ones have mid length flows sleeves and all are just above the knee.

Wearing one right now as I sit in the urologists office full of older men.

You can always wear a light cardigan too! (Well, at least in Canada!)
