Default Today I realized 25 lbs is 1/4 of 100 lbs.

Wow... I've been sick for the past two days, so I'm expecting a bit of a bounce when I get better, but today I weighed in at 240.0. That means I have lost 25 lbs. It's weird to think that 25 lbs didn't seem like a big deal to me at first, until I realized that 25 lbs was 1/4 of the way to 100 lbs. Wow. I can do this 3 more times!

I have always thought to myself that if I had a magically genie that would grant any wish, I'd wish to be thin. Today is the first time I see myself as that genie. I can grant that wish. I can lose 25 lbs 4 times- I've already did it once and I'm only 8 lbs from being 1/3 of the way there.

Good for you! Breaking it all up into small goals works really well for me too. Every time I hit one of my mini-goals I've also celebrated quite a bit. Keep up the wonderful work and you'll be that genie before too long! I actually found that it's much better for me to learn how to do this myself (and not magically wake up one morning thinner) because it's giving me the tools to maintain my weight afterwards.

I have never thought of it that way, you are so smart! 25 pounds seems very doable, and just doing it 4 times makes for 100 pounds gone. Seems too simple to be true, but you are right. I will think about that when i get discouraged.

Yeah!! Small goals are the only way to go for me, psychologically speaking. Now all you have to do is rinse, wash and repeat 3 more times! You did it once, you can do it again and again and again!

Way to go!

breaking up a big weight loss into a few smaller chunks makes it much less intimidating. congrats on your loss so far, and i hope you get better soon!
