Default What to do about too much Sodium

I'm trying to watch different aspects of my diet and lately the topic of Sodium has been on my mind. I don't use salt but, naturally, there's already salt in most of what I eat. I'm over most days so I'm wondering what I could do about this. Does drinking a lot of water help? I hope that isn't a silly question.

I drink at least 40 ounces of water a day, think I'm in the ballpark?

I react to sodium easy, but I have a thyroid condition. For me it is; water...water...water. And average day I drink 72 oz, but after high sodium days i try to get 100 oz in.

When you say you react easy, what do you mean? If you react negatively, what sorts of things would one look out for?

My fingers swell up...my weight goes up. A dinner out usually means 2 pounds more on my scale next morning. And it takes days to shed that "weight"

If you switch from processed to homemade foods, you'll find that you naturally will watch your sodium because you're not adding crazy amounts to your food the way companies do to preserve them.
