I would agree with Wuv. It's important to get your entire grams of protein in for the day, even if it is late in the day!!

I had this issue reviewed during my first WI. My coach strongly told me not to skip the p.m. snack as the body will continue to burn calories while I sleep and needs the added protein to work efficiently. She told me that if I find that I am not able to fit in the snack when dinners will be later than usual (>7p.m.), plan my snack between lunch and dinner. In those situations, the dinner protein would be the night protein the body needs

I have my snack at 1130pm every night then go to sleep at midnight or so and have done this from day one. Its better to have something on your stomach when you are sleeping than to be empty

I'm a day late and a dollar short but I say eat it! Your body will be in fasting mode for many, many hours while you sleep and it will need the nourishment! Did you have it???

hmmmm, I blew it yesterday then. I didn't eat my snack because I had a really late lunch and then late dinner...

Happy to have found this forum. I am new to the IP diet. I am in the middle of week 2 right now.

Hey all, So should have once daily phase 1 snack come after lunch or dinner, before 8 pm,

I was going to use it for 3pm cravings rather than after dinner?

Cheers/S...

Have your snack WHENEVER it is needed, if its between lunch and dinner, eat it then....if you are not hungry between then and want to have it after your dinner at night....eat it then....Its a snack have it whenever you would like

So wuv, just to clarify (I'm in my first week with restricteds, alternative foods), I can have a protein bar in addition to my 3 protein packets?

You should be having 3 packets total....2 unrestricted and 1 restricted

Thanks for the clarification, have found the bar helpful mid morning, the rest of the day I am full and satisfied.
