Default "Out of the woods" - 10+ lbs lost!

For me, the worst part of weight loss has always been the initial 5 to 10 pounds. I've seen my weight fluctuate by as much as 3 pounds so the first 5 never really meant much to me. I could easily "gain" 3 back the next day so I don't consider myself "out of the woods" until I hit 10+. It was also a matter of "believing" that I was really doing it - am I really sticking with it this time or am I gonna give up?

I weighed myself today and I've lost 14 pounds. Even if I fluctuate by 3, that still leaves me with an 11 pound deficit! I feel like I passed the worst part and now it's all smooth sailing from here, just gotta keep up the good work. The mental part - the worrying - is behind me, I've got this. =D

Starting weight: 181
Current weight: 167

Thats great I was fluctuate the first month or so, so I completely understand what you mean. But after I got over losing 10 lbs its been a steady loss of 1-1.5 lbs per week. Keep up the good work!

That's awesome! I know exactly what you mean. I've been trying to break through 10 pounds for the last few months. Just when I get close I sabotage myself and bounce back by 2 pounds. I'm really determined to do it by the end of this week. I agree that it seems like it's so hard. I'm hoping that it seems a little easier once I break through my initial barrier.

bravo!!! I SO relate to that 10lb feeling of being out of the woods where weight loss is "official"...
I can't wait to get there. You are so right - the scale can fluctuate TREMENDOUSLY depending on the time, day, water retention, whatever
I can't wait to hit that mini goal and feel out of the woods too!
Congratulations!!
