Veggie Teams Challenge- Week 2
Drumroll, please......
Here they are, the results for Week 1 of our Challenge:
Team 1 had the highest pounds lost with a total of 16lbs!!! Collectively, Team 1 lost 1.9 % of their body weight. Congratulations Team 1!
Team 2 came in at a 1.3% loss of collective body weight. Good job!
KmbRN84 lost the most with a loss of 5 lbs. She also lost the highest percentage of body weight with a 2.2% loss. CONGRATULATIONS KmbRN84
Well done, everyone! We ALL lost weight this week, which is a great achievement.
Our Valentine's Day mini-goal is now 4 weeks away. Does anyone have a specific goal in mind? Feel free to share your mini-goals here.
*Note: Team 2 seems to have lost a participant, so team weights are uneven. I hope no one objects to me using percentage body weight lost to calculate results. This is probably a more fair way for everyone. You can PM me with any concerns.

Congratulations KmbRN84. Well done.
LOL, I had to go and check to see which team I was on. I've been waiting eagerly for the results. I thought both teams did very well. Percentage body weight is fine with me. Anyway, any loss is a great triumph.
I'd like to lose a minimum of a pound a week between now and Valentine's Day. I'm afraid to go higher as I don't want to be disappointed. but I'll be elated if I do better. But I'd also like to have an exercise goal. Right now I'm on an exercise bike and I'd like to try and bike 250-300 kilometres by Valentine's Day.
Twish, thanks for leading out in this challenge.

Body % rates are fine with me. I don't care how it is calculated. Thank you for figuring out how to do it twish.
Good Job KmbRN84!
I think we all did fantastic.
I don't have any goals right now, just to keep on loosing weight healthily.
I am going out of town Valentine's weekend so I guess one of my goals is to not gain during that time. It's always harder to eat healthy and keep working out while away from home. We are staying with some friends who cook pretty healthy so I am not too worried and I can always get out and walk to get exercise.
Isabella- Do you think in terms of how far that 250-300 km can take you? For example, last year I figured out I walked to Los Angeles. It's is a fun way to think about your exercise.

Madame Sousa, last time I "bicycled" I had a goal to go as far as Quebec from my home. I hadn't even thought of that this time. Thanks for bringing that up. I think I'll map it out and see where that will bring me. Maybe I can post pictures of places of interest that I pass by.

I really benefited from these team challenges when I first joined 3FC in 2009. It was a great way to connect with similar-minded (vegetarian/vegan) group of people on a regular basis. There are so many 3FCers and so many challenges that this one had a more intimate feeling and we really ended up caring about each other's challenges and successes. I am really happy that there has been interest in a team challenge, so it is really my pleasure to do the info tracking.
retiredone- your goal seems like a good one... thanks also for reminding me about exercise goals.
MadameSouza- not gaining is also a great goal, especially when there is a trip in the future.
As of today, I have lost 5% of my body weight since starting back on 3FC in early December. My 1st mini-goal is to lose 10% of my body weight, so I would be thrilled to lose 13.6 lbs by the Friday weigh-in before Valentine's Day. I think I can do it. My eating has improved (I wasn't eating much at all before I started back) and I am eating mostly whole foods and eating enough calories a day to support a more efficient metabolism as well as additional activity. My exercise goal is to complete 30 consecutive days of Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. At might weight and current level of fitness, it has been the perfect workout to push me to my edge without going so far as to discourage me due to inability to complete the routine, etc.
Depending on how fit I am after completing the goal above, I want to cycle everyday. I usually only track the time I spend on my bicycle, but I love the idea of starting to track distance and to see how far I have gone- it we be great to think I had done enough to reach New York. Maybe that will be my next goal!
Thanks for the great ideas, ladies!

I just checked how far I walked so far this year. I have walked to San Francisco exactly! (54 miles) If I keep it up, I will have walked 129 miles- to Santa Cruz by the time I go on my trip. so, that will be my goal, to walk the distance to Santa Cruz.
Twish, let me know how you like 30 day shred? I have been picking it up and looking at it but haven't bought it yet. What kind of exercise is it?
Isabella, it will be fun to see where your exercise takes you

Hi everyone. I am back to 3FC after a two year hiatus. During that time I have gained back about half the weight I lost
This is my first day back OP. I returned to 3FC yesterday for the first time since falling off the wagon, because I know how much 3FC helped me before, especially challenges. I read that one of the teams had lost a member, is it too late to join and help replace them? If not I understand, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask since you are only 1 week in.

I've really stepped up my exercise this week and my effort paid off. Today's weigh-in = 196.0 lbs.

176 pounds
177- 176 = 1 pound loss this week
Total lost: 4.5 pounds
Yeah!!!
KmbRN84, don't feel bad. You lost so much last week your body is probably adjusting. You'll see a loss next week.

I forgot to weigh myself this morning. I will weigh myself first thing tomorrow. If I weigh myself this evening I will get depressed. I need to get used to weighing myself on Fridays.

Thanks to those who posted weights today. No worries for those who wish to post tomorrow morning. Hope everyone had a good week- I just started a yoga course, which completely threw me off and I, too, forgot to weigh-in this am, so I'll be back tomorrow!
