New year and I'll join you all if I'm welcome. I've been maintaining my loss for a few years and usually hang out with the maintainers. I'm 44, married with two daughters. My eldest is away at college and my youngest leaves in the fall, which will leave me an empty nester. My dh travels a great deal so I suspect this will be an interesting year for me. Maintenance is always a challenge-- trying to balance food, exercise, work and family.

Hey, guys! Welcome to 2012. I'm taking the new year as an opportunity to get back into shape and deal with some issues that caused me to relapse.

I am 40! I started P90X last month but spent the last couple of weeks sick and stopped working out. I will be starting again tomorrow. I was posting on the Beachbody sight on a P90X forum but it's so intense over there. I'm not really into figuring out the percentage of protein to fats to carbs I'm eating. I like to keep it simple and focus on clean eating and moderation and working out, of course. I am 5'9" and weigh 175. My goal is to lose 30 lbs. Look forward to getting to know everyone on here a bit! Good luck to you all!

I just joined the forum. I'm turning 44 in 26 days and intend to lose 75 pounds of my intended 115 by age 45. I have two teenagers, a husband and a best friend supporting me, so I know this is going to be a great adventure.

I'm happy to see so many new people and returning members!
Michele, past your goal and maintaining. Good for you! I'm glad you decided to join us!
Mgruce, glad to have you back
NE, bootcamp sounds very tough. I hope you enjoy it!
Kylie, welcome glad to have you join us!
Girljam, glad to have you join us. I did P90x a few years ago and also got sick between the 2nd and 3rd months. I didn't follow Tony's eating plan and certainly didn't count anything or figure precentages! Too much work for me!
Angie, glad to see you join!
I went shopping for sweatpants and didn't have much luck. I'm long waisted which means for most pants if the waist in is the right place the crotch dangles down about 3 inches below where it should, so low rise styles work the best, but most of the pants I tried on were so low-rise that the waist didn't even come up to my waist. How do they expect the pants to stay on??? The good news is that most XL fit while the 1x were too big. yay. Bad news is I only found one pair of pants.
We also did the groc shopping, and did some other errands. I'm going to try to convince Hubby to take me to a Walmart tonight to see if I can find anything there.

Hi ladies, Debbie here. Would like to join you as well.
I started IP the day after Thanksgiving and boy do I have a lot to celebrate this NY! I am 17 lbs lighter and full of energy. I am a 47 year old RN who works 4 10+ days. I am still in Phase 1 but loving it now. I still struggle with the whole, "dont exercise" piece but I do know that it will come.
I look forward to hearing and sharing ideas. As my coach lives in MI and I am in NC all the information and support I can get will be most appreciated.

Sun Jan 1
B= 2 c milk, vits
L= Jason's Deli 1/2 Plain Jane potato, SW Chicken Chili poured on top {yum}
D=Chili's 1/3 Monterey chicken breast, all Broc, 1/2 mashed potatos
S= handful grapes, slice colby, 15 tomato/basil wheat thins, 1/2 apple
E= does shopping for pants count?
I did finally find 2 pairs of $7 sweatpants at Walmart. I have yoga pants but nothing really warmer to wear around the house or take the dog to the park. I hit the clearance rank, finding both a pretty purple tank for $3 and a Danskin jacket for $11.
I have to remember to feed my bread starter for tomorrow's baking!
Debbie, Good job on the 17lbs you have lost! I'm glad to hear you found something that works for you.

Penguin, thanks for the welcome! I agree, too much work! I have to keep it simple or I will quit for sure.
Michele, congrats on maintaining your goal for three years! That is so great!
NEMom, congratulations on your success too! Bootcamp sounds like a lot of fun! I love a good, kill you workout (as long as my stupid injuries stay under control.) Muscles are SO important.
This already looks like it will be a great group! -Cindy

Hello, everyone! Nice to see the 40 somethings active again! The last week of December was not a good one for me diet-wise, so I am back on the wagon again starting today! Looking forward to the weight loss fellowship on 3FC! It's nice to know I'm not alone. Thanks for starting this new thread, patch!
