You and me both Diana.... But you also have to give yourself permission to know its ok to have gained a little during this crazy time. For both of us, most of the weight gain is water and so, it will come off easier than fat. But doesn't it feel goo to know we have the ability and the will to want to deal with that gain and no to feel defeatd by it?

Berry We don't have time to feel defeated! We had the potential to do so much worse. We are back on plan and that's all that matters! We enjoyed our down time, but it's time to get back on plan. We know what it takes to get it done!

Good Morning Everyone,
Happy New Year.
OK, so since I had started on a carb binge yesterday, the family decided to have a fiesta of sorts. DH wanted beer and pizza (he compromised with Uno, I like their crust the most). I, of course, wanted cake and boy was it yummy. I was already in pain so it wasn't going to matter. It's still going to take me 2 weeks to get clean, a spoonful or a handful (or in my case a fridgeful ) doesn't matter, it still takes 2 weeks.
Since I didn't reach the 200 goal, I sort of said the heck with it, I might as well, which is a defeatist attitude, but now that I've done it, I've done it. This is a start of a new year and I have all the basics to go on losing weight, so I don't feel I've done any harm to myself (as far as weight) as I know how to take it off and I still have that determination. I won't give up.
So here's to a new year, lets make it a good one!
Have a wonderful and healthy day!

Diana It's good to see back We can do this! Do you work tomorrow? I got super confused over the week and kept thinking Friday was New Years Eve. It didn't help my DH was home, made me think it was Saturday all day :S He's off tomorrow too, so are the kids, but their calendar says they go back tomorrow. Man, I feel like the world is out to confuse me But no matter, I wish a wonderful week and New Year

Mamakat Thank you. It's good to be back. We decided to close tomorrow. We will re-open on Tuesday. I need to start on closing out my books, though. Hopefully I can get a start on them before I go back yo work.

Last night I ate the rest of the orange I used some of for dinner, 2 slices of a Dark Chocolate Orange ( oh yeah yummo ), and 5 multigrain crackers ... bringing the grand total for yesterday up to 1174( I had rounded everything when I gathered a plate to nibble on while reading last night and I was off should have come out to over 1200 DOLP).
This mornings weight 386.8.
I also added more to my breakfast this morning so I would not have to go back after dinner and eat more after I realize I need more calories for the day. I definately do not want to go under 1200 calories.
Oh and exciting news!!!! I can see the tendons in my feet again YAY. Last week the chair at work was not making the sides of my thighs hurt and feel hot and bruised. I am not sure if that was because of the 3 day weekend to heal or because of weight loss. WooHooo

Berry, I am always curious how people know when gain is water weight. Would you mind explaining it to me?
I am gonna try to keep up with this thread so I can get to know you all! I love seeing so much inspiration and accomplishment here!!
Sundays I can't go to the gym (closed) so I make it my less healthy day all around.
So far today:
Breakfast: 2 pieces of wheat toast with Nutella
Lunch: Great Value Lean Cafe 3 Cheese Ziti
Snack: One Little Debbie Swiss Roll (one, not one package)
Dinner: 1.5 pieces of french toast, complete with butter and full sugar syrup, 3 sausage links.
Also a couple chocolate calcium chews (they help with that craving!)
I'm sure I'll have another snack or two tonight and maybe I will update with my royal calories once I finish out my day in My Fitness Pal.

Hi Everyone!
Berry How did you do today? Any cravings? I haven't had any so far. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I had enough protein along with the sweets/carbs.
gtkitty Hi I'm thinking the NSV with the chair is due to weight loss! Keep up the great work! I always loved those types of NSV's. Not everyone can understand those little things that make life so much easier for us.
JanessaFaith Hi and Welcome to the check-in! I will also answer about the water weight. I don't think everyone has issues with this. I sure do! I can feel it in my fingers and in my face. My face/under eyes get even more puffy than they already are. My whole body feels bloated and tight. I am up on the scale right now from eating off plan the last week or so. I feel fat and bloated. When I was losing weight and I was at this weight, I didn't normally feel like this. It's weird.

I ate a lot of food late. I'm not sure how it's going to react on me in the morning. The good thing is that I stayed in my calorie range, I tried to keep my sodium as low as I could, I kept my sugar/carbs as low as I could, and got a workout in! Today was a success!

A New Start
Well I have battled with my emotional addiction to food since the age of 8. I have lost and gain and lost and gained.
Recently a co-workers husband had stomach surgery. I decided that I need to start the same type of diet without the surgery. So I battled with myself about starting today. Always an excuse to not stick to a goal.
To my own amazement I have had two protein drinks and about 2 cups of popcorn.
My goal was to do only the shakes but I feel successful even with the popcorn intake.
Hoping joining this site will help me with my journey.

Well, you can't know precisely how much is water wegig, but it is nearly impossible to eat so much as to gain 2.5 pounds of fat in a day. However eating higher socdium or higher carbs can make you hold water and that can make you gain that much in a day. Like yesterday. We ate fondue for dinner. My husband gained .2 from yeterday and he ate about double what I ate. I gained 2.6 lbs. no way is that fat.
