I haven't been on here in awhile, but I had a baby almost a year ago now, I was skinny before I got pregnant (this was my 5th child), I went upto 220 pounds while pregnant, I lost a lot went all the way down to 180 but then gained went upto 195 and now for the past 4 months been sitting at this weight without gaining or losing, I breastfeed and that hasn't helped and I started eating better and less, that hasn't helped, and I don't exercise which might be a problem but I have a very hard time motivating myself, what do I do???? I want to lose my belly and huge thighs, please help

Start finding excuses to move around more. Are you counting calories. Find out how much you need, and see how much your consuming everyday. Add in excerise to help boost your metablism and get you fit. If your still having trouble losing after limiting your calories and excerising, and eating right, maybe it's a thyroid issue...don't quote me on that though :P...Hopefully you'll find something that works for you

I think, for some women, that breastfeeding may make weight loss harder. I'm still nursing my son and losing weight has been much harder for me than it was before. I have to be very careful with my calories, get my exercise in and it still comes off really slow. If I go off plan at all, weight just piles back on quickly. I didn't have these problems when I lost 60+ lbs in 2007.

As far as exercise motivation, I take my kiddo out for walks as much as possible. It's good for both of us and I get my exercise in. All this rain we've been having makes that hard though.

Hang in there.

I had a son almost 16 months ago and within 2 weeks i was down below the weight i started at and then i put on 20 lbs in less then 4 or 5 months. I am having to work really hard to get this weight off and my belly might not ever be like i want just because i had a c-section. But what has been helping the last week or so is watching what i eat and counting calories, and i workout 1 1/2 to 2 hours everyday. In the last 5 days alone i have lost 15.5 inches and 2.2 lbs.

You really need to get moving more. Exercise of 30 minutes a day is necessary for health and 60 minutes for weight loss. It doesn't have to be at the gym. Walk around your house, put the baby in the stroller and walk around the block, walk up and down the stairs several times if you have them, lift cans of vegetables to build strength.

In my mind, motivation doesn't exist. It's all decisions to do the things that meet our goals or not to.

If you exercise a lot but still don't eat fewer calories than you need, you still won't lose weight. I'd recommend looking at both the input and output sides. If you're overwhelmed you can do it in stages!

When I was pregnant/breastfeeding, I followed the dietary guide in the book "What to Eat when you're Expecting." It was very helpful and is also a good guide even after the baby is weaned.

That, moving more, and eating tons of veggies is a good start!
