Default Music to Move to!

I figured we were long overdue for a music thread! Specifically songs aimed at keeping our heart rate pumping while we run or lift I find music is a huge motivation especially when doing cardio.

So list your top five (or more) favorite songs and lets help each other out!

Here are mine:

1. Devil's Dance Floor - Flogging Molly (I looove this when I need the extra push during a run. The song just makes you want to run and headbang!)

2. How You Like Me Now - The Heavy (Amazing motivating song to play during cool downs. Makes me want to strut my stuff and keep that pep in my step.)

3. Let The Bodies Hit the Floor - Drowning Pool (High energy and angry song, especially good for that last push while chanting that nothing's wrong with you!)

4. Seven Nation Army - White Stripes (Very good song to warm up to as my brisk pace matches the beat so beautiful.)

5. Paint it Black - Rolling Stones (Nice, decently fast pace and since I know the lyrics so well its easy to lose myself in the song.)

So what do you guys have on your playlist?

I just uploaded some new tunes.. Not all are new since I like disco and some oldies.

The Heavy = How you like me now.
Barry White - You're the first...
Beyonce' - Crazy in love
Elvis - A little less conversation
Just say no - White Horse
Bow Wow wow - I want candy
Grandmaster Flash - White lines
Rihanna - Don't stop the music.

I thought I had Drowning Pool in my collection, but see it's not there. Maybe on the kids computer. Love that song!

I'm a newbie runner and my crazy podcast has got me moving!!

My favorite song ever to run to is "I'll Make a Man Out of You" from Mulan. It's a really great song to get me pumped and I used to love listening to it when I ran.

When I move my butt and start running again this is definitely going to be on my playlist.

Ok here are a couple that I live right now:

On the floor - jlo featuring pitbull
Stereo hearts featuring Adam Levin
Je veux - zaz. <-- she's a French artist you can find on iTunes

I certainly have more but I can't think of them at the moment. I can DEFINITELY agree with "I'll make a man out of you" from Mulan. That song motivates me like nothing else.

Ooh, I love workout music threads! Here are some of my favourites (I tend to love songs that really inspire me to keep going, as you'll probably see from the titles.) I hope no one minds, but I'm also including the lines from each song that made me add them to my workout playlist.

Venus - Bananarama ("Goddess on the mountain top, burning like a silver flame/The summit of beauty and love, and Venus was her name")

Keep the Faith - Bon Jovi (well..I think this one speaks for itself, lol)

No Surrender - Bruce Springsteen ("No retreat, baby, no surrender")

Fighter - Christina Aguilera ("Makes me that much stronger, makes me work a little bit harder, makes me that much wiser, so thanks for making me a fighter")

Viva la Vida - Coldplay (OK, I just love the beat of this one.)

St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion) - John Parr ("Play the game, you know you can't quit until it's won/Soldier on, only you can do what must be done")

Firework - Katy Perry ("You don't have to feel like a waste of space/You're original, can't be replaced/If you only knew what the future holds/After a hurricane comes a rainbow")

Aphrodite - Kylie Minogue ("I'm fierce and I'm feelin' mighty/I'm a golden girl, I'm an Aphrodite")

Born This Way - Lady Gaga ("I'm beautiful in my way/Cause God makes no mistakes/I'm on the right track baby, I was born this way")

Numb/Encore - Linkin Park vs. Jay-Z ("I came, I saw, I conquered")

So What - Pink ("So, so what? I'm still a rock star/I got my rock moves, and I don't need you")

Raise Your Glass - Pink ("So raise your glass if you are wrong in all the right ways/All my underdogs/We will never be, never be anything but loud and nitty-gritty/Dirty little freaks")

****in' Perfect - Pink ("You're so mean when you talk/About yourself, you were wrong/Change the voices in your head/Make them like you instead")

This is a great thread, I'll be taking some notes on songs to get.
I love:
ACDC- pretty much all their songs
Queen-we are the champions
ZZ Top- quite a few of theirs
Charlie Daniels Band- Devil went down to GA

Otherwise, I typically listen to Pandora on my phone. I have a techno/dance station that I LOVE to run to!
My cool down songs are:
Adele- songs from her CD 21
Norah Jones
Pretty much any modern jazzy tunes
