Good for you! I also am going to do WW at home with leftover WW stuff from when my Mom was on it. I'm hoping to start tomorrow... but I'm scared, as this is Thanksgiving week! :P

special occasions are difficult.
you can get through it if you are prepared.
are you going out to dinner or any events where there may be hard to resist foods?
i think it helps if you have something to eat before you go to things like that.
you can do it.

Hiya peoples, i too am restarting , but doing it at home, No $$'s. gald too see other people like myself. Planing on doing flex, when I can find that place where they had all the ponts listed. Went to my first WW meeting when I was 18, been off and on it ever since, have put on just over 8kg in the last 7 months through giving up smoking, time to take it off again. Hope to hear from you all. Mary

Well chickies it looks like you are all off to a good start

I do flex at home since I don't have the $$ too. You all are right this might be a tough week with the holiday but I am going to try something a bit different to get me through.....bring my own small plate to the table then do the divide rule....half plate non starch veggies, 1/4 plate protien (yum turkey) the other 1/4 bread/starch --and the biggie no second on anything other than than the good veggies!

I will survive!

hey all.
nice to see some new 'faces' in this thread.

maryL -
congratulations on quitting smoking.
i quit in february and i allowed myself to put weight loss on the back burner.
i think it's important to fight one battle at a time.
now that you have had many non smoking months behind you, it's a great time to face the weight battle.
i wish you well!!

nancylmrn -
it's great that you have an action plan for the holiday.
i really believe preparation plays a huge role in being successful.
you can get through it!

i am about half way into week 2 and i'm feeling great!
i have earned 15 activity points so far this week.
that's really something for me because i am quite inactive.
one of my goals for this journey is to become an active person.
i don't just want to lose weight - i want to be fit and active.

i hope everyone is doing well and feeling strong.
i will check in soon.

When I was doing WW purely online and not going to meetings I found it really hard to stay on track. For me it was important to have a weigh in somewhere else and I found the group meeting helped me stay on track. (Not everyone needs any of that of course).

I am now going to WW meetings but if I was in a situation where I couldn't or the budget didn't work I think I would try finding a TOPS meeting nearby. That is very low cost and you can use whatever eating program you want (which could be WW) but might help get back on track.

i know someone that went to our local tops meeting.
she said they were very off track.
weight loss/support wasn't the focus of their meetings she told me.
maybe i will hunt around to see if there are any other tops meetings in my area.
good idea.
thanks!
