I ran my second 5K in chilly Boston weather today. It was called Get Your Rear in Gear, part of a national line-up of 5K races for colon cancer research.
For my first 5K I just concentrated on finishing and running the whole way.
Knowing that I could do that, this time I pushed myself harder, visualizing times when I have felt comfortable pushing myself, like when I played rugby in college. I even sprinted a few times.
I'm really pleased I did it and with my improved time.
