Talking Been MIA almost 3 months....SORRY!!

IM BACK!!!!

Hey Ladies! I sure have missed you all! I am sorry for being MIA for so long but my ankle injury has really brought me down along with some other issues life has thrown my way.

For those of you who remember me here is an update....I am STILL struggling with my ankle injury from July...However we now know what I did! I tore my deltoid ligament and my ATL ligament. No wonder it hurts so bad! The MRI couldnt even SEE my ATL ligament so that was most likely fully torn.

Things are getting better but I am still off work as they do not have anything in our injured worker program that fits my limitations. Which is no lifting over 10lbs and no standing/walking more then 20 minutes at a time no more then 2 hours a day!

I have gone back to physical therapy since the specialist doesnt think surgery is a good idea now. If PT doesnt work then it may be an option but I am hoping that wont be the case.

The good news in all of this is that even though Ive been basically grounded to my recliner at home....I have been able to adjust my calorie intake and balance what physical activity I AM able to do....and I have not GAINED any of the weight I lost back! Wooo Hooo I am so happy even though Ive not lost any more the fact that I havent gained either has made this more bearable. I did have a moment of frustration and depression on the 3 month anniversary of my injury. I had realized that in the 3 months before my injury I had lost 35LBS and that if I had kept up all my hard work instead of being injured I would actually be VERY close to ONEderland!!! I just wanted to cry! But in the long run you can only do what you can do so no use crying over spilled milk...or in this case torn ligaments. LOL

I have however lost a lot of muscle mass in my calf and even in my thigh from lack of use. So I expect once I am better to have some of a gain just from building back the muscle. My bestie teases me and says, "look you have one regular person leg and one body builder leg now" hehe Ive always had VERY muscular legs. Its weird to be able to pull knee high socks up over my calf easily on one side but have it way to tight on the other!

Anyway I thought I would just stop by and check in. Let you all know how I am doing and see how everyone else has been!

Yikes - at least now you know what was wrong. I'm glad that you're on the road to health, and that you've maintained under tough conditions! Good job!

Thanks theox It is nice to know what is wrong...but I should have been healed by now even though they were torn. So there is still no real resolution as to why I am still in pain and why I still have problems with it buckling sometimes. Oh well small steps right LOL

I am VERY happy to have been able to maintain though!
