Default starting on Monday.... HELP!

my alternative products finally arrived today and I will be starting full force on Monday! (I have dinner plans tomorrow evening and I don't want to explain anything to anyone yet...)

for the experienced IP'ers, what items are your go to foods? I am going to go grocery shopping on Sunday and would love any recommendations!

thanks

I pretty much hit the produce department and then leave.
Broccoli, Cauliflower, Celery, Cucumbers, Red Cabbage, Turnip, Red & Orange Peppers, Lettuce (Iceberg & Romaine),

And of course do add a carton of eggs, chicken & Beef

You will be amazed how fast you go through the produce
Other than that the rest for me is IP food

I have been doing my own high protein version of the program since I had no products and found that I haven't been eating any lettuce.... is this okay?

Actually you should be having 2 cups of veggies PLUS lettuce for both lunch and supper. I find it quit filling so have my lunch and then an hour or so later have a bowl of lettuce as a snack - works for me.
This is suppose to help keep you regular but doesn't "work" for me

I do much better when I make sure I get the lettuce in, with weight loss and with regularity issues.

Thin is correct, you don't realize how much you go through the produce in a week. My son said we need to move to the country so i can grow my own garden....lol. Get Zuchinni and yellow squash as well. We can have summer squash but not winter. I keep green beans also to have once a week and if I get tomatoes I get the cherry tomatoes. I also get turkey burgers

Lettuce is a big one for me. I find when I run out of lettuce and don't have it for a day or two I have a smaller loss that week. As much as I know I need the lettuce, I'm just not willing to drive an hour to the grocery store to get it. I've been pretty good with grabbing enough for the week unless my family eats a lot of lettuce during the week as well. I just can't say to them, don't eat the lettuce it's mine as we are all making healthy choices.

And everything thin4me and wuv mention as well. Stay out of the isles if you can.

thank everyone!

I thought the lettuce was what you could have IF you were hungry... I guess I will start eating it as well.

I do not have a food scale.... any tips on how I can accurately measure my dinner protein?

ETA - how much lettuce should I be eating then??

I highly recommend getting a food scale. It's just too hard to judge food weight, especially at first. After awhile, it gets a bit easier to eyeball a portion, but I still rely on my scale and measuring cups. I got one at Bed, Bath & Beyond for under $20 (with a coupon).

I got that one too. I was really surprised how out of proportion my perception was of food weight. I used to make what I thought were 1/2 lb burgers. Now then I'm weighing out 6oz I realize that my burgers were actually about 1 lb each.
Did you know that 1 slice of deli roast beef is about 1 oz? I didn't.

yup, I knew that but if you get it sliced in the deli its according to how you have it sliced. I used to get mine shaved so it looked like I had more...ha

I have read through the alternative sticky numerous times and this is my plan:

B: 3 egg whites + 1 egg and veggies

L: ProtiDiet soup + lettuce and veggies

S: veggies

D: 5-8 oz of meat + lettuce and veggies

S: ProtiDiet pudding or hot drink

*On the days I work out, I am going to add in an additional ProtiDiet product

For those of you using alternatives, how does this look??
