Default Banana "ice cream"

Just wanted to share a 'recipe' I came up with. I peel and freeze banana chunks to have around when I'm craving something sweet. Last night for whatever reason I decided to toss a few pieces in a food processor to see what would happen, and voila-- banana ice cream.

I know some of you try to stay away from bananas because of the sugar content, but I've found that they don't cause cravings for me (and I rarely eat a whole one). So if you're someone who can handle bananas and love ice cream like I do, give it a shot! It really hit the spot for dessert and was definitely healthier than having real ice cream.

I've tried this before and it is so yummy! Add a little peanut butter and/or cocoa and it's delicious!

I've made it a lot! Tastes delicious. The bananas do need to be nice and ripe though. Also doesn't keep well in the freezer IMO.

I've tried this too; learned about it from Weight Watchers. I actually put some ripe bananas, sliced, in the freezer a while back for when I get an ice cream craving.

What a great idea. I just started WW and am not a big fruit eater, so bananas and apples are my only options. I'll start slicing tonight!

Even better than the banana ice cream... chocolate banana milkshakes! I used a frozen banana, a NSA fudgesicle, and enough skim milk to make it creamy. This one's definitely more dessert than fruit serving, but so good!

ETA: a little peanut butter in there would be amazing, too!
