Talking I am new and appreciate any/ all support, ty

Hey everyone! I am so happy to found this site. I do have so many questions. Although I am 44 y/o, I have only once before tried low-carb dieting in the mid-nineties. I lost 22 lbs in 6 weeks and kept it off for a few years.

I just started again 2 nights ago. I have my key tone sticks, and all the fruits and veggies I can eat and juice; mostly organic.

I could use some input about when I should go into my first ketosis cycle. I read several posts but nothing specific to me with just starting.

Any meal plans, recipes, and advice is much appreciated.

Hello there and welcome!

I've also done low carb but have never used the ketosis sticks. I'm confused, though. You say you're going back to low carb, but that you are also going to be eating fruit and juicing it. Which low carb program are you following if you don't mind me asking?

I don't know the answers to your questions but from what I've been reading, there are a lot of well informed people around here willing to help each other out. Hope you find what you need!

I've been low carb for almost 7 & a half years now (Atkins).
I'm interested in hearing what exactly your plan is and what exactly you'll be eating.
As for the ketone strips, they never worked for me.
All the best to you!

I wondered about the fruit and juice, too.

Hi and WELCOME.
If you are keeping your carbs at or below 15grams per day, you should start ketosis in 48 to 72 hours. And you probaly won't show the darkest levels until about a week or two. The best indicator for me was my breath. It is a definate change from the norm. The darker the color, the greater number of ketones you're emitting. Also readings made throughout the day will vary. Pick a time (for me it was the late evenings) to use your sticks. I don't use them now, but they can be reassurring when you're first starting out.
Best wishes on your journey
