This won't cause you to lose fat. You might lose some water weight, temporarily, from the laxative effect of the castor oil, but as soon as you start eating and drinking normally, and stop taking it, you'll regain most or all that you lost almost immediately by replacing fluids and waste.

A more moderate, healthy approach, on the other hand, will let you lose actual fat, while not dehydrating yourself in the process!

Laxatives for weight loss are a very unhealthy idea indeed, especially violent laxatives such as castor oil. It's not real weight loss anyway, you're certainly not losing fat. It's a common sign of disordered eating, along with induced vomiting.

My mother was told by her doctor after I was born to take casteroil for constipation. She just continued taking it because he didn't tell her to stop and the oil actually coated her intestines to the point that she wasn't absorbing nutrients properly

or at least that was the story I got

There's an old wives tale that using castor oil would induce labor... I was warned of this by my doctor after my due date came and went. He said all it does is make you poop... a lot. There's nothing magic about it; it's strictly a laxative.

As others have pointed out, laxatives are not a way to lose weight. First off, you're not even "purging" because your body has already absorbed nutrients. And personally, I think it's a pretty harsh laxative anyway.
