So my journey has been a long one, starting in January 2007 when I saw a photo of myself and broke down over it after all it is easier to be in denial when you avoid the camera's so it is never so blatantly in print. But there I was over 265 pounds and I decided I would change my life. Bought Dr. Oz's You on a Diet, and started going to the gym.
My first class was a mixed martial arts class called Combat. Hid at the back of the room and could barely get through any of it. Holy crap Everything hurt, and I was in terrible shape and it was hot as **** at the back of the room, but I loved the class and the energy. Made another decision, no more back of the class I was moving on up to the front of the row with the super fit chicks but more importantly the FAN.
. So from there I was addicted started working out 5-6 days a week and trying to eat right. Dropped as low as 215 but then my weight would go up and down 25 pounds. By Sept 2009 I was done with the yo-yo and working so hard and opted for Lapband surgery. I was 240 at my consult and today I am 145. Best decision I have ever made. I always describe it as I eat the same breakfast I have for 4 years, the difference the band made for me was I am not hungry 45 minutes later, I last 3 hours on my breakfast.
So since all the changes, I have joined Taekwondo and I am loving that and I love my new body as does my husband. My marriage is stronger and happier because I am happier. What a wild ride....Living and Loving Life!
