Default will exercise make me young?

I'm hoping exercise will make me feel younger again. Right now I feel stiff and tight and not fluid like I did when I was younger. I'm planning on yoga and walking/running.

is this going to do the trick?

I'm 25, and I can tell you that I feel like a retiree when I don't take care of my body! Talk about feeling old. I've been exercising consistently for the last few weeks, mostly cardio, and I'm starting to feel closer to my age again.

Yoga will definitely help you feel looser and less stiff. I took classes while I was in India, and I found it to be a godsend. As far as running goes, just make sure you take care of your joints. Sometimes running can make you feel older because of the number you do on your knees, so maybe look into some ways to prevent joint damage (good shoes? Wraps?) and take some vitamins for joint health.

PS- Love the avatar.

thanks. I've never had any joint problems before. And any running will be eased into and at a lower weight lol

I started jogging when I was a bit below 200. Before this, I was walking on an incline, which I think helped increase my lung function and got me ready to start to try jogging.

Yoga will help you with being more "limber" and flexible. I prefer pilates, but it does pretty much the same thing.
with running, do a training program. Google couch 2 5k or c25k. This will give you a regimented program and is realistic with resting your body as well. I don't jog anymore because it does a number on my knees and hips. We put something like 4lbs of pressure for every pound in our body on our knees every time we jog. Give your body time to adjust. I find bicycling to be a good alternative.
If you feel sharp pain, especially in joints, stop jogging.

If possible, take some water exercise classes to start; they give a great workout and are easy on the joints.

I always walk a fair bit. And I'm on my feet a lot so I'm not all that worried about how my body will respond. I'm just worry I'm not being realistic about my expectations.

Yes, definitely. When I'm not exercising I get tired easily and am just sluggish ALL THE TIME. I started running at 225lbs and it really helped me not only have more energy but also helped my mood and I was more productive at work. Not much of a downside there.

I'm 39 and I can say without a doubt that exercise (mine is: running, Pilates and kettlebells) makes me feel like a teenager again. It took about a month of seriously exercising before I felt like I did about twenty years ago.

I am 54 and have been exercising since I was 28 and I can definitely vouch that I feel, look and act younger than my friends that do not exercise... Just the other day I was showing some vaca pics to my mother and she mentionned that the couple we went with look so much older than DH and I, when in fact they are quite a few years younger than us ... It felt good to hear that...

So in a nutshell YES you will definitely feel better

I definitely feel rejuvenated when I work out. I wake up feeling refreshed usually! Sleep and good exercise will do the trick!
