We need "like" buttons here! (you guys crack me up)

Yes, Mrs. Snark, smoothies or make banana bread somehow fit into your diet plan! Ewww!
My son thinks that when a banana has any brown on the outside, it's "getting moldy!"

I'm doing ok so far today. (it's only mid day, here) I made plain oatmeal topped with heated up granny smith apple, cinnamon and walnuts for breakfast--I still miss the sweetness, but will try it again. Then lunch was a big salad with black beans, brown rice, tomatoes, avocado, etc. (I'm using a restaurant menu for ideas. https://www.freshii.com/ca/menu )

I have chocolate twinkie type cakes in the freezer for the kids that I WILL not eat today...even though they are calling to me. I WILL NOT eat. I WILL NOT EAT!

I had blueberries and Qia Superfood hot cereal for breakfast (both items are just under 200 calories together and keep me full until lunch). Had leftover quinoa stuffed zucchini for lunch, plus a few tablespoons of mashed potatoes...shhh! Oh, wait, we are talking about the good choices and not the mess ups? The good news is that I didn't make myself a heaping bowlful, and instead tucked it away in a pan to be warmed up later for everyone's dinner (but mine).

I have a restaurant tuna whole wheat wrap in my fridge that my husband ordered but didn't end up needing, and it's calling my name for dinner. I can't decide if that would be a good choice or not - probably high in salt, full fat mayo, and of course the carby wrap. I know it's not a good choice, but is it a bad choice on a par with say, chocolate cake? The mental negotiations begin.

Oh, and I went to the gym. Yeah!

The mental negotiations begin... You made me laugh so hard, Guac!

Getting ready for bed here. The weather is awful, so no jogging. Maybe not all week, according to the forecast. Might be forced to dust off the wii fit at this rate. Man, I can't wait till spring.

Today's good choice: extra long dog walks. The cool weather is almost gone, I need to take advantage of what's left before spring/summer's blazing heat hits and dog walks get short and inside treadmill time increases!

I went to the gym, and I did not sample any of the unhealthier foods I made for our family dinner tomorrow night - chocolate chip banana bread, apple cobbler....of course I did sample the veggie dishes! Yum!

Chocolate chip banana bread and apple cobbler at the same meal? Can I move in with you?

Yay for walkies! In the summer I tend to go for my jogs veeeery early to avoid the heat.
We used to have a cat that went for walks with us. Miss her so much.

This is last night's good choice, actually. I was feeling off-kilter and nervous- lots of little, annoying things that are beyond my control going on right now, and I found myself grazing in the kitchen. For once I actually caught it (mostly- there was a casualty in the shape of a small peppermint pattie) in time and said to myself, no, you're not hungry, go brush your teeth. I did that and had a big glass of water. Yay me!

Too funny, magic! Our confessions about bad foods we eat remind me of a Patton Oswalt routine about Alcoholics Anonymous being way cooler than Weight Watchers. He goes on to give examples of the differences in the kinds of testimonies given, and the Weight Watchers one talks about seeking forgiveness for eating Doritos for breakfast - it's pretty funny!

Good job catching yourself, MagicSusan! Hmmm, they should make chocolate mint toothpaste

Waah, cannot watch the video...it's anti-Canadian. (blocked) But, if you have any other documentaries to recommend, I'd be game!

Oddly enough, Veggie, I think that was part of the rationale of the toothpaste; I kept telling myself, "You're still tasting the peppermint pattie! Isn't it nice?" And lol, Guac, on the Oswalt guy. I dream of getting a treadmill and dangling a donut. Running towards donut!

Good choice; I just went jogging again. Now I'm going to eat my left over quinoa and nothing else. No peppermint patties!

Happy birthday! My good choices were going to gym despite a hectic morning and also not eating leftover cake for breakfast and choosing oatmeal and blueberries instead!

No snacks for me through the weekend. GASP! Apparently it *IS* possible to do that.

No snacks? No cake for breakfast? Y'all are epic!

I forgot to buy brown rice so I made quinoa for myself while they had the white stuff. Even made extra for lunch tomorrow!

Did NOT feel like cooking dinner tonight, but not only cooked dinner, made a huge pot of mushroom barley soup which smells heavenly. That will be my dinner, along with sliced cucumber, possibly some sauteed eggplant and peppers, and mixed fresh berries for dessert!

Yesterday, I actually measured the hoisin sauce before putting it in my tofu stirfry! I think that is a first. LOL
