Quote: Okay, here's our new challenge: state what you want to accomplish by May 14 and go for it! Anything goes; the only hard-and-fast rule here is that on May 14th, YOU MUST DANCE LIKE A CHICKEN!!
  • Quote: LOVE2B You are doing so well......keep it up girlfriend!!

CATTAILS I have one of those mesh bags already ...LOL...wondering how big the dog will get since we have no way of knowing who or what her daddy was....maybe she'll be the kind of dog i can keep in a bag and sneak her into stores...LOL

SHANNON..you met your goal so please get your chicken costume ready

My mini goal for the day...drink water!! and lots of it!!
Thanks Zumba I was so hungry last evening (9-10pm) but determined not to eat and it helped Zumba I buy things for the kids and my husband and it's the chips that call my name every time. I think to myself I can resist and then I have five and sometimes it works and sometimes it turns into a feast ... oh well ... Good for you on having your day planned out, way to go

I made it to the gym I sure hope I did good because it wasn't as great as yesterday
  • My goal updates
*get to 160 (as of today - lose 7lbs
**Done three times so far on 5/1, 5/2 and today

*walk at least 3-5 times a week, 3-4 miles
**I don't know but I am doing something sometimes

*stay within my calorie, carbs range
**Had some bad days but back to losing
  • I have not been having a very good week. My daughter has been sick and I have been up at night with her alot, like hourly. I am really exhausted and cranky which is affecting my eating. I had been doing well not eating candy, processed foods, empty carbs etc but this week I have just gone completely off the wagon. I am feeling a little depressed and scared I'm going to slide back into my old (horrible) habits of eating mostly junk. Everyday I think 'ok, back on track today' and I go totally off track at some point. Thanks for letting me vent.
  • Shannon -- I'm so sorry. I can understand the problem as I suffer from pretty chronic insomnia. It really affects everything and it seems to really increase the difficulty for your brain to make good choices. It is chemical, so be gentle with yourself and don't judge yourself to harshly for struggling.

All you need is one good, solid day to feel better about the whole thing. So here is a suggestion: Make a plan, keep it nice and simple and EASY for this day, write it down and then cross off each meal and add a big smiley face at the end of the day. This has helped me in the past, maybe it can help you, too.
  • Shannon - I've had a similar week. My 4th, the baby, has had a shocker of a week sleep wise and I've been tired, grouchy and not eating well. I've barely run as well due to generally feeling too tired. Some weeks are just bad ones, I think you just need to regroup when you're feeling better.

My weekly weigh is tomorrow, I'll be happy with no gain.
  • Shannon, it's quite alright. I've been doing the same thing. The harder I try to stay on track it seems the worse it is. Here lately if I stay OP in the early part of the day, evening comes and I blow it all. Maybe it's this time of the year since I see it's happening to quite a few people even the people I chat with on MFP. Don't beat yourself up and please don't allow the stresses with food to discourage you. You've had a lot of NSV's and you are (we are all still learning) every day brings a new venture/challenge. Is there a place to walk in your area? Huh, Maybe we could meet in Brier Creek and walk that stretch. I'll bet that will get us in gear. Let me know I am always here for you

Michelle I like that plan ... Hope all is well

Chubby mum good luck with your weigh in
  • Okay ladies, i'm jumping in here...insomnia is horrible..I've had it and it definitely makes it almost impossible to stay on track with ANYTHING...so cut yourself a break and i hope you start getting some good sleep soon....I'm not big into supplements but people swear by melatonin.....Chubby nothing like a sick child to get you off track and turn your world upside so cut yourself a break.

I have noticed that my binges are at night and it doesn't matter if I stayed OP all day or went hog wild. I don't think its my body trying desperately to make up for calorie deficit....its just stupidity. Last night i had two ice cream pops...REALLY? I woke up and saw the wrappers and asked myself what the heck is wrong with me....Over 152 again today and surprised it isn't alot worse..so here I am....another day. The kids go back to their dad today and i need to make good use of my "alone" time and not spend it eating junk.
  • Zumba, hope the evening/night snacking ceases for all of us
  • Ladies, I saw a new low 159.4 I was gonna eat a baked potato last night after church but I didn't. I made it then wrapped it and put it in the fridge. Instead I ate crustless pepperoni pizza and a grapefruit. Going to a movie today so I hope the popcorn doesn't mess me up since I'm eating it early in the day, have a pass that gives popcorn and a drink. One of my evening weaknesses was/is popcorn and it use to get me every time with the water gain on the scale. Hoping to keep the numbers going down the rest of the week
  • oOOOOooo a new low! I love those, yipppee Rennie!
  • Thanks Michelle
  • The emotional torment of weightloss is the worst.
  • Quiet today, hope everyone is doing ok!
