New 40 year old on the forums. I signed up yesterday and started my diet today.
So far, so good. In the past, I never had any real problems losing weight as along as I was serious about it with a good diet and effective exercise.
To be honest though, the last time I lost a sizable amount of weight was 50lbs in 2003. Last year, when I was serious I was able to lose weight pretty well, so I'm not too worried, but the "40 year" thing is a concern.
Anyway, the weight has to go. So hard or easy it's moving day (year?) for my fat.

You will do great. I'm almost 50 and was somewhat concerned about how my age would impact dieting efficacy, but so far so good, and I'm not doing anything special - just counting calories so far.
