My run is DONE, and I ran an extra 4 minutes and 16 seconds for Queen's Fat Bottomed Girls. :)

kelijpa 08-31-2013 09:10 PM

That's what I should run to

Got in my crunches and planks, win win

Great job Kelijpa! Planks are so hard (to me!)!

I went out on our boat without any snacks in tow, so therefore no snacking occurred. Funny how it works that way. Ha.

Day 2 of c25k, decided to do it before we left on little day road trip, good thing, it was too hot and crowded where we went to hike, so was glad to have gotten that in!

Good choice Mrs Snark!

Oh to go hiking, if only I didn't live in flat and unforested (where I live) Florida! I'm headed to Maine in October though, and will be hiking in Acadia! Sooooo looking forward to it!

Today I got rid of 2 food items that were making me binge-y feeling -- I don't need any extra challenges in that department. So that's that.

Saturday I went to the KC Irish Festival and did not have any food, Guinness, or whiskey. Instead, I drank water and stayed on plan with a protein bar (even while my friend had bangers and mash).

Wow, so hard to do, great job! :carrot:

I went for a walk on the river trail here in Lansing. It is such a beautiful day. I really enjoyed my walk and went further than I ever have before, a whole mile and a half.

kelijpa 09-02-2013 09:46 PM

Mrs Snark, I'm jealous...lol...we went to Acadia last year, loved it, try Thurston's Lobster Pound if they're open, we really enjoyed. Can't wait to go back, for the national park and the lobster! We did a day cruise to an island, I think it was called Cranberry, I could be wrong, that was fun, another couple was geocaching, so we looked together and found the thing, we don't do geocaching anymore, but it was fun at the time. Enjoy!

Got in my functional exercises, a 2mile hike and some serious work in the garden, rain knocked some stuff down and I ripped up one cucumber plants, I really don't want anymore...

Back to work tomorrow, 4 day weekend was divine....

Best to all :sunny:

Kelijpa -- we go to Maine every year, my father-in-law has his second home there, so we visit often. Acadia just never gets old, it is so spectacular! My FIL has lobstermen friends so my husband is always spoiled with lobster when we go (I don't eat meat, but my FIL has an awesome garden, too, so I get lots of veggies I get to pick myself, which I love!)

In my campaign to get my 5Ks back under 30 minutes (which I haven't done since I injured my back and had to quit running for several years), I set myself a new Personal Best today and ran 3.13 miles in 31:36. It was a good effort!

Oh, how I love hiking in Acadia National Park. When we lived in Boston, and before we had kids, we used to go hiking up there every fall. The last time I was there, my oldest was a baby, so I guess it's been 14 years!

My good choice today was... choosing not to stop for apple cider. The first press is in, and we have been waiting for it. HOWEVER, the orchard also carries my #1 candy choice, and I just didn't feel strong enough to walk in and be 100% firm in my commitment to not buy it. So I drove on by.

Chose to stay on plan all day, finished week 1 of c25k, feeling really optimistic about completing it.

Congrats on the run time Mrs Snark!

Way to be strong Newleaf!

Magicsusan 09-04-2013 05:49 AM

Didn't feel like lifting today, but instead of potatoing I went for a walk.

Mrs Snark 09-04-2013 11:08 AM

Good job knowing (and respecting!) your limits Newleaf!

kelijpa - I'm sure you will complete the C25K! I know when I did it I repeated some weeks, it just took me a little longer to get there than the plan called for! That may not happen to you, you may breeze right through, but just in case you hit a tough patch I think it is totally normal!

Magicsusan - I love the term "potatoing", lol! Great job!

I chose fresh strawberries and oatmeal instead of too-carby cereal for breakfast.

kelijpa 09-04-2013 10:33 PM

Mrs Snark- thanks for that, I am a bit worried about keeping up the zeal that I'm feeling starting out, good to have a plan to repeat if needed. Crazy as it may sound I'm excited and scared :D

Decided not to snack this afternoon at work, kind of scolded myself about how're you going to get to your goal eating off plan, it's those little bites, etc that get me.

Best to all :sunny:
