40-something weekly weigh-in

  • So in reading through the threads it seems a lot of people are having the same frustration I am with fluctuating weights. Hopefully if we all check our weights on a weekly basis we will see some progress. I'll start - Friday's my weigh-in day:

    5/6: 139.2
    5/11: 138.0
    5/18: 137.8

    natamars - yes, January was tough to get through, although I have had a similar plateau in April/May for a few weeks at 158/159. It's tough to stay motivated during those times, but I am determined to be stubborn and believe the scale will eventually drop if I stick to my plan. I think that seeing the recordings of my weight proves to me that I will eventually lose if I keep holding on.
  • I weighed in this morning. I suppose I will record every Sunday weight.

  • Kelly, that's just what I'm planning to do too - weigh in on Sundays. Things are less hectic in the morning etc. I will probably weigh in during the week just to keep an eye on things, but it'll be unofficial...

  • KelStand - Sounds like a plan to weigh every Sunday! I think I am more sporadic - some weeks I weigh once and other weeks more than once. Some weeks I am not brave enough to weigh in at all! That's why this accountability thread should help me to bite the bullet and keep tabs on my weight.

    Gingermint - Thanks! I know what you mean about keeping things official. It's helpful to write weigh-ins down to keep track.

    NEMom - Great to see you here! You are doing fine. You'll shed the few extra pounds in no time.

    LittleBlueCat - Of course! Most of us have been where you are today, so don't feel intimidated. It's great to have you here!

  • Looks like I had a small whoosh this week! I'll take it. Every pound gets me closer to a healthy BMI!

    I'll take the small loss. Very up and down week. Job stuff is crazy. When I have an interview I'm too nervous to eat, and then afterward I'm starving. Have not tracked well the last few days, and not enough exercise this week.

    NEMom, hello! We all need to encourage each other to post here every week, even if the news is not good. I ate too much too late last night and normally would have skipped my weigh-in, but I had promised myself I'd post here every Friday.

    I weigh on Fridays. I tend to run and bike and beach on the weekends, and I think by Sunday my muscles are puffy and I'm probably retaining water.

    Am I the only one who counts 10ths of a pound? I need to! Sometimes that might be all there is!
