I must be really sick...meant to tell Ange to send some heat my way :)

I hate and hate being sick. I am such a cry baby. my husband is avoiding me, because I make his ears hurt...lol

I kept my eating in check, I am finishing around 1500 calories. Probably too high because I did not get off the couch. BUT much better than I usually do. I never understood it...people usually STOP eating when they have a cold... I on the other hand stuff my face, and I don't even taste the stuff I am eating.

FL...((hugs))

I'm a slow poke today. Just got on the forum for the first time since yesterday. We finished the second coat of paint on the walls in the steeple, then went to get some shelving parts. Had to go outsid in the freezing cold and go to 2 stores to find what we needed, and even then we still had to have them order some brackets for us It was supposed to be in the mid-20's today, but the warmest I heard was like 0. Supposed to get to 40-ish tomorrow. Crossing fingers. I need to go for some walking time! Laddercise is over for a couple of days until my aching neck and back recuperate. I did a couple of special orders so I can get paid. Yaaay! This time of year is slim pickin's, so every little bit helps and I am all over even a little order. In the summer...my head is in the toilet most of the day so not so much for the crafts. I wore my black hjeans to paint in from when I first started trying to lose weight last year. Then, I couldn't even get the top buttoned up. Now, I have plumber's butt all day. Yaaay for clown pants. Somehow, it seems like even my regular jeans I've been wearing are getting looser. I haven't worn those little size 16's since a couple of weeks ago when I tried them on and took a walk, but I might be surprised and there will not be a muffin top. Hope so.

Yikes...no personals and I have rambled on and on. Ho[e everyone is warm and safe, or cool and safe.

Mirj-I love the 200 calorie thingy. Puts stuff into perspective.

Good morning! You all make me feel like such a slug. There you all are, managing to work out even in 6 feet of snow. Today the temps here dropped to the high 40s and I am freezing! Everything in perspective, right? I was a big fat pig at the cooking class last night, we get this huge meal demonstrated for us and then we all eat it. There were two amazing desserts, and who am I to pass up dessert? Then I couldn't get up for the gym this morning because I went to bed after midnight, and didn't even walk in to work because of the "cold."

I've attached the recipes from last night, I hope this works.

I think I"m in a bit of a rut. I feel like I do the same things in the same order on the same days every week. I could try changing things around a little. I just feel blah.

Mini rant over! :o :dizzy:

Mirj, recipes look good. Thanks for posting! :carrot:

AnnieDrews 02-03-2011 09:44 AM

OMGosh! I feel like a P-I-G hog this morning. I about had a stroke when I stepped on the scale, I don't even want to talk about it. I think maybe just sitting around for 2 days (even though I did a 5 mile walk yesterday) took its toll on my body. I know I didn't drink enough water so I am hoping most of it is that and I'll get rid of it today. I'm back at work and will get all of my water (plus more) in and re-evaluate at weigh-in tomorrow. I just feel so fat today....just bloated. Clothes still fit so I'm not panicking but bleh...I just don't feel right.

I doubt I'll be going out to fiance's this weekend with snow still packing the roads out that way. So I will concentrate on staying on plan all weekend and get in some extra exercise.

Mirj-Those recipes look awesome! Especially the dessert!!:D Is it normal for it to get that cool there where you are?

PP-Routine is good for me, but I know what you mean about getting in a rut. See what you can figure out to "mix it up"!!

Barb-Aren't loose pants awesome?? You go girlfriend!!!:carrot:

Mirj 02-03-2011 09:49 AM

Annie, we can be hogs together today, tomorrow is another day!

PP, lend me some routine, there's too much going on in my life and I just yearn for the mundane!

As for it getting cold, it rarely gets below 50 where I live. When I used to live near Jerusalem we would get snow once or twice a winter, but temps in the 40s and 50s were the norm. Now that I live on the coast it usually is in the high 50s to low 70s during the winter.

We have a friend's 50th birthday party tonight. The theme is Fred and Ginger. We are all bringing the food, I made a bowl of edamame hummus with whole grain crackers. I hope I can be good...

I keep forgetting to post my exercise minutes...

Monday-45 min.
Tuesday-0 min.
Wednesday-65 min.
Thursday-45 min.

I don't know for sure! I just realized I hadn't been doing it thought I would catch up.:)

Ashley777 02-03-2011 11:24 AM

Hi,

time to get caught up on a few things, Fruit lady I agree with people here and what they have been saying. If your body wants to be 115 that is a great thing, the worst part is allowing our minds to accept it. If you can eat well and maitain 115 without forever wanting to be 107 you will be much happier in your life. It is hard to change our mindset but I must say when I am on a roll and eating properly and not binging even though I have lots to lose still, I actually feel so great emotionally and mentally that is like a goal for me to get the focus off myself and how I look to being more fulfilled in other areas of my life. It has been hard but I am making progress and I am in awe of how much better I feel all around. You can do this and you will feel great.
Sum - hope you are feeling better soon! Depending on what kind of illness I have I do the same thing as you, just eat and eat, or don't eat at all.

Penguin - hope you have a better day, 95 percent of life is doing the same thing over and over again, that in itself can become depressing, shopping, cooking, working, cleaning, laundry, etc. We are all in this together, and we can do it.

mirg - dont beat yourself up for one day of missed exercise, and for the weather thing it is all relative - we get used to what we have and adjust to where we live, if 40 is cold for you that is okay, I would not want to live where it is hot all the time, I become lethargic and don't like exercising at all in the extreme heat.

I have not been posting my exercise I guess for me it is just automatic and i dont care to post, sorry for the bad attitude there, it just seems like one more thing to do. Maybe I can post at the end of each week or something. The college I use to work at had a competition for most steps walked, I thought gee I already do this lets try and win something, I thought I could potentially win, the only thing I hated about it was the tracking, I know I know it only takes a second to do, so i did it and came in in the top 10.

So back on plan and hoping to keep refocused, my boss encouraged me to apply for a job opening in our department, more money and amazing benefits. The only reason I don't have benefits now is I was hired for a one year term position. I hate the process of going thru this so trying to keep on track amidst this. At least I know the interview panel work with all them already, just hate the unkown.

AnnieDrews 02-03-2011 11:33 AM

Hey Ashley!! Wow, that position sounds awesome! I hope it works out for you. Best of luck!!

I just had a thought.....re: feeling bloated, etc. My doctor changed my blood pressure medicine last Friday. Along with a lower dosage, he felt I did not need the diuretic (included in the pill I was taking) any longer. I'm thinking that is why I am feeling bloated....my body getting used to not having the diuretic on board. I hope it is only temporary, I don't like the way I feel today at all. I know sitting around for two days doing nothing didn't help either. I am drinking water like crazy today. Already I've had 69 oz. so far...we'll see how it goes.

SILLYCAT 02-03-2011 12:47 PM

Hey all!

I feel better - don't think i've lost anything in the past 2 weeks but getting stronger and doing more exercise and not binging!!!!

so... hopefully i'll see results!

Wow ashley - you are sooo right about mindsets and being hard to change and 115 is Fabulous fruit lady!! most important thing is to be healthy!!

did my circuit training again today - and will walk 3 miles during the day - so.. onward and upward

annie - any time your body chemistry is changed by different medications it can manifest in many ways - give it a few to see how you feel overall and if not better in a few days talk with your dr. could be just related to the change could be that you do need it..

fruitlady 02-03-2011 01:05 PM

Ashley- lots of luck if you do go for the new position! honestly, I don't think I'll be happy wishing I was 107lbs. So I think my weight will have to stay right where it is, if my body allows it. I have my don't care eating days at least one time a week, I'm not suffering one bit.

My weight stayed the same, so glad. I tried a Yoplait Chocolate whip yogurt this morning with Fat Free whipped cream, it felt like I had a fattening dessert, but it wasn't. It was good, the calories are higher for this kind of yogurt, so I had to skimp on the fruit. I'll will buy it again for those times I have a chocolate craving. Rode the bike for 32min., went 7.5mi. I planned out my meals for the day, i will have 1260 calories, if I stick to it. It's been a week since I had any junk food & I'm really craving it today. At least the sun is out, wish it was warmer so I could go out & walk.

Have a great day!

jomatho 02-03-2011 02:53 PM

Second snow day here today. Gotta get these kids back to school so I can get back on schedule and get this house cleaned!!! Excuses, excuses... Going to get my haircut today, looking forward to getting out and about.

PP - sounds like you need something to look forward to. Maybe plan a date night or a shopping trip or something. Nothing wrong with having a daily schedule though, I need more structure to my days. Somehow I get it all done, I just do as the mood moves me :D.

Mirj - funny how perception affects how temperature feels! In the spring here 40 degrees feels like a heat wave, I unroll the windows a crack in the car and everything, but in the fall, 40 degrees feels so cold, I turn the heat on on the car. Just what you are used to. I would take your 40 degree day today, it is frigid here, but it is sunny and I am trying to appreciate that. Oh, and I dont think a slug would have worked out 420 minutes since sunday!

Annie - you are probably on to something with the new BP script. Your body is trying to figure out how much water it needs. Good job getting all that water down today. I am sure whatever your weight is, you didn't eat 3500 calories x each of those pounds ABOVE what you normally eat! Right? It will all level out. There's that perception again, just because you weighed more today, you feel fat, even though your clothes still fit the same.

Ashley, you sound like you are in a better place! I am excited for your new job opportunity, that will help you out so much! Best of luck!

Sillycat, I hope you see some good results for your efforts too, I am sure you will!

Ashley777 02-03-2011 03:35 PM

Where can i get some of this, Yoplait Chocolate whip yogurt!! man they sell alot of products in the U.S that they don't sell here, even though the same company makes them, wierd. I like kraft peanut butter but could not find it in the U.S and now they even make a light one. I measured a tablespoon the other day and it was actually quite alot so I was happy to find I usually have half a tablespoon and i love that it keeps me full long. As scary as it has been I have added more fat to my diet and I feel better and my joints feel better when working out.

Silly cat way to go on the non binging that is such a goal in itself!

Annie I just saw your post from yesterday, take a deep breath and stay away from the scale for a few days!! dont let what the scale says determine what kind of a day you will have! I went on birth control before I got married and followed my plan amazingly well for a few weeks and my pants actually felt tighter I could have just died, but then my body adjusted and I lost some more.

Jomatho I am jealous of your snow day! have a good day out and about.

It is plus 4 here plus 4.... yay it was so nice on my walk at lunch!
