Okay.....came home from work in kind of a grumpy mood. Munched on a few of those da*n macadamia nuts....then stuck them in the freezer....as if that will work.:^: Had an awesome veggie plate for supper, though. Tried to salvage a few slimy salad greens but it was a lost cause. Sorted some old brocolli/cauliflower that was about to go bad and steamed that and had a baked sweet potato with just a small amount of margarine. Sweet potatoes are my new favorite!! Just have to be careful on portion size with those.
I've stripped one bed and put the sheets in the washer and that is all I'm doing, except to put them in the dryer. Going to watch TV some before bed. I got the new Title 9 catalog in the mail....DROOL!! I love their clothes and now that I am thinner (thought not sporty and boyish like their models), I would love to get some of their things. Just too expensive for my budget. I think for my birthday I will ask fiance for an Academy gift card. I want to get some new sporty things...a few workout things and some spring/summer things, too. Seeing the clothes in that catlog made me vow to get up and do a 5 mile DVD in the morning....hold me to it girls! I'll report in the a.m. Love to all!!:) |
Today's workout was Leslie's Big Burn. I was too lazy to change my clothes so I wore tightish jeans, sweater, regular bra, and slippers. The jeans stretch but interfered with the knee-ups and I lost my slippers in the second round of kicks, LOL.
I did much better with my eating today. I'm working on starting a generic food plan. Ashley, How wonderful that you have your son for support. I could use a little more of that around here! |
Argh, here we are, the first week of the new year, and I've already been sidelined! I slipped in the lobby of my office building yesterday and fell right on my coccyx! Ouch! Walking to work and hanging out on the elliptical at the gym is now something that's not going to happen until I can move without pain.
So, does anyone know how many calories are in codeine pills? ;) |
Hello ladies! I did it! I got my lazy butt out of bed a little earlier than usual and did the 5 Mile Fat Burning Walk DVD!!:carrot: :running:
PPenguin-Good job on the getting in the Big Burn, even if you did lose your slippers.:p S what does your food plan entail? Mirj-I'm so sorry that you fell and hurt yourself. I guess you know there isn't much that can be done for a sore coccyx, hope the medication helps and you are soon feeling much better. How is everyone else doing today? |
Good day, all! Hope everyone's day is going or has gone well, depending on your time zone! :)
Mirj - OUCH - take care of that - I slipped and fell on my rear and skull before christmas and I STILL feel the pain in one cheek of my rear. Hopefully you didn't fracture that little bone! Penguin - had to laugh at your workout garb - but kudos to you for not making the excuse that you didn't have the right clothes!! Annie - Great job on getting up and tackling that 5-mile dvd! Way to go!! What led to the grumpy mood - anything in particular? Angel - "fat and sugar droppings" - love it! Kitteh - hope you're doing well today!! Ashley - I like your idea of taking some notes to remember who has what going on here. Yep, I got married in Florida and now we're getting deep into planning the belated honeymoon in Italy next month. I am so looking forward to meeting up with a woman who runs a B&B in Florence (my favorite city of all, and we'll be there on his birthday) ... and bringing this woman things that she loves from the U.S. that they don't have in Italy, like peanut butter, reese's cups, taco seasoning, cheddar cheese, etc. It's funny HOW excited I am about that. Was crushed yesterday when I found out their inn is booked for the days we'll be there, but hoping to stay in another spot just down the block from them. Will get that arranged today. Down three pounds from when I got back from our trip ... still higher than my signature. Said I'd redo it after weighing today, so i'm up to 175. Seems so alien since I was at 140 for years and 141 was my cut off. 135-140 ranged but over that i got right back down. Now... that seems impossible, but I know it isn't. We went for a three-mile walk around 9 last night and froze. We didn't dress warmly enough. Took the dog and she was ready to get home, too. What's everyone's biggest challenge facing them today? Annie - did you hide those macadamias deep enough in the freezer? :) |
Good morning. I stayed out later than usual last night and just didn't have time to log in at my usual time this morning.
Ate fairly well yesterday, but I had a few more multi-grain (no wheat) and nut chips. Not too bad, but annoying. Hit the gym once--vigorous workout, still feeling it--and took a walk at lunch. Did not eat the treats at my friend's house, though they looked really good. Down half a pound. Mirj--the halwah I had was made by an Indian (from India) woman from wheat, nuts, dried fruit, spices and ghee, so apparently it just has a similar name (or maybe started out more similar but has diverged over the centuries). Sorry to hear about your fall and sore tailbone. That can take a while to heal. Angelskeep--I don't care for oatmeal--don't like the texture--but I know it's really good for you, so I may have to try that pumpkin oatmeal. It sounds yummy and may convert me to Oatmealism. PPenguin--Kitteh is lolspeak for kitty. Check out ICanHasCheeseburger.com AnnieD--the weight vest looks interesting. Do you wear it for all your exercises or just certain ones? Glad to hear you got up and exercised. I don't blame you for falling prey to the nuts--they're very good at luring people into their grasp. Ashley--I also have to take notes as I read people's post--especially now that we have so many posts. NParker--No peanut butter in Italy? No Reese's? How do they live? Have a great day, everyone. |
Morning Everyone, yesterday was great and on plan and good workout.
NP - WW could be a great idea if it works for you and they even have sales on now. Congrats on the wedding and Italy sounds amazing and also congrats on the 3 pounds. Annie – way to go on the 5 mile. Penguin, thanks for the good laugh in sharing your workout outfit it made me laugh so hard. Mirj – sorry for the fall hope you feel better quick. Angel - the nanimo bars are scrumptious, I almost dreaded my mom coming over by the time we got close to new years as I already had several bad days and I new she would be brining goodies I had not eaten yet… lol. Kitti good job on the half pound and not eating the treats.... today is usually a really challending day for me but I just feel so much better and really want to change and stay on track. 11 weeks is up near my birthday and I hope to have some real loss by then and be back in onderland. I have wonderful closet of clothes I want to wear again, enough to last me for two sizes down, so I don't have to worry about spending any money too! |
This is my last 'free' week before my Bible Study {CBS} starts again. So I need to start on all those things I said I need to do this vacation and haven't done yet. ;)
I'm down another lb today. I don't feel I"m doing anything differently so I can't explain the loss this week. 'new state of mind?'. My food plan is so far very generic, mostly just times for meals and snacks. Since I"m on vacation still next week will change, so I'll have to change again. But I might as well start this week. Putting it off will only make it harder to start late, right?!:o Annie, I have a lot of workouts by the Cathe that made your vest. She used to be a favorite but the last DVD series she put out was 'harder than I want to work'. I do enjoy her older weight workouts. Ashley, NP, since most of my days are spent at home, when I get up in the morning I put on workout clothes, so I can't use having to change as my excuse. its days when I'm wearing street clothes that are harder. I'm supposed to change out of my street clothes when I get home, but I didn't yesterday. NP, nice of you to take a care package! I was surprised by the list too. Those are all staples here. Mirj, so sorry to hear you are injured. Ouch!:( Feel better. |
I've been reading about food plans. And I had an epiphany. I've been working on 1 food plan. A one sized fits all for every day. But a lot of my days are different. I get up at different times, and I do different things. No wonder I've been dragging my feet.

Bad Annie! You can appreciate the gift and then toss it away if necessary. I am sure I could never resist them even if they were buried UNDER the freezer with a pile of nat geo magazines piled on top! I've never heard of Title 9 catalog. Will have to google it.
Penguin-just keep on typing with your beak, you'll get there eventually. It isn't a race it's a journey! Sure sounds easy, huh? I'm dreading in a way when I get to the weight after this next 25lbs. I am anticipating it getting tougher them ore I've lost and thinking that pretty soon I will have to sleep standing up to lose a pound a month. Mirj-that pretty much sucks. How long do they think it will take to heal? Can you do any kind of exercise? Swimming? Bicycling? Nationalp-glad you're getting back to pre-trip weight. Your work is paying off. Must've been cold if even the dog wanted to come home from your walk. Chuckling about all the things you are taking to the innkeeper in Italy. I often end up giving my UK guests boxes of Jiffy cornbread mix and cans of baked beans to take home. It's funny how foods can be so different in different places. My SIL's sister lives in Italy but was home for Christmas and brought back all sorts of amazing food tidbits for us to add to Christmas dinner...YUM! And their family still has distant cousins there who make their own olive oil...they sent a bottle for the festivities...so much "greener" and fresher tasting than anything here. Kitteh-I'm not too big on plain old oatmeal either. I usually eat a 7-grain hot cereal that has a lot more texture, but that pumpkin kind is AMAZING! I should try it with the 7-grain stuff. Ashley-Good job staying on plan. I know you can do it, esp. for clothes! LOL! I am still good for 2 more sizes, then will have to go buy jeans that don't have the butt worn out from sitting down on the rough concrete. Three more sizes is where I was before I quit smoking. Then I'll prolly try more sizes down, but not immediately prolly. So, I did fine yesterday, not quite enough exercise, but not a biggie. WATP today in a few minutes. Had my ham and pita taco on schedule. Leftover lentil and sweet potato stew. Tomorrow is a turkey burger and oven baked sweet potato fries. I forogt about Frosty Friday...might have to ask Robert to get one on his way home. It was my treat for the week last year and felt decadent even though at 135 cals, it was easy enough to work into my plan. Feeling lazy today and not much like working...UGH! Barb |
Today's torture was Firms Tight Buns and Killer Thighs {or something, I'm not going back to check again! Crazy title anyway} 31min of LB exercises/cardio blasts. Actually, I remember it being harder the last time I did it, so that's progress. The area around my spine between my shoulder blades is tight and hurting, a common problem with me. I call it my 'hunch' because I can usually trace it back to hunching over something like my sewing machine. So I thought it best to stick with LB today. I'm pretty flexible but that's a tough area for me to stretch, but I keep trying.

Ta-da!!!! This is Hubby is his newly completed ski mask. http://i554.photobucket.com/albums/j...a010611013.jpg I finished it off at my 'sit and knit' tonight, and got ot show it off.
Annie, I get Title 9 because I buy my sports bras from Champion {during the sales!}. T9 has Beautiful things; I try not to look too hard because they aren't cheap! |
Good Friday morning, everyone. The first week of 2011 is almost over. Time just flies, anymore.
I hit the gym twice yesterday--feeling a bit tired and sore today from a week full of extra exercising. Ate mostly to plan, but I admit I added a couple extra olives and a few extra craisins to my salad. No loss this morning, but at least there's no gain. I need to make a food plan for the weekend, since I won't have the structure of the workday to help me. PPenguin--that's a good revelation, that you need different food plans for different days. I need two plans, for the most part. One for workdays and one for weekend days. Well, teh kitteh wants Momma to play, so I better do that before they find out about the v e t visit later today (and stop speaking to me). Have a good day. |

PPenguin-LOVE that ski mask....I so wish I could knit one for my younger son. He would love it! But alas, I don't knit.:( If you ever decide to sell them, let me know!! You mentioned your Bible study, does it take up much of your time? Hope you can get a "plan" together....it gets easier once you know amounts, calories, etc. NP-Your honeymoon trip sounds awesome!! I've never been out of the country, not sure if I'll ever make it, but that's okay. So much for me to still see here! Hi, Ashley!-Hope today is a good on-plan day for you again! You're doing great! Barb-I think Frosty Friday sounds like a wonderful idea! Completely denying ourselves is not a good thing. Enjoy! Well, all of the fudge is gone from the house (don't ask...:() and the macadamia nuts are still in the freezer. They don't taste so good frozen...again, don't ask...:^: Otherwise I did well yesterday. We will be having pizza (at fiance's request) tonight and I plan to get half veggie for myself. Maybe some salad with it. Not sure what we are going to do for tomorrow. I did get my 3 Mile Boot Camp done this morning. I haven't used the vest yet, but want to wait until I do a workout that doesn't have the boosted walking or lunges in it. Don't think suddenly adding 10 pounds would be good for my knees if doing those moves. May try it with the 3 Mile Weight Loss Walk on Monday....that just uses hand weights with no lunges or boosts. Well, I changed my signature to keep me honest. The scale showed 152.5 again this morning. I honestly feel like I have gained so much more than that. Especially in my gut....just feels so bloated, etc. May take a few weeks to get all of the "bad" out of there. Oh well.....ONWARD!!:carrot: |
Hello everyone! It's another snowy day here. I swear, Ashley, I don't know how you make it through your Canadian winters! Last night on my way home, some guy spun out in front of me and ended up facing me - scared me. Icy. Had trouble with sliding from that point on. Arrived home all stressed out and wanted what? cheese and bread. That is my ultimate comfort food. Was denied as we were out of american cheese, which is the comfort one. Yay. So dinner was green beans and a sliver of leftover wedding cake. Yes, some is still hanging around in the fridge, but it's not calling my name. I think we'll toss it in the freezer. He took a big hunk to his folks yesterday, for them to try it. Then had some hummus chips - possibly the best tasting snack ever. And way too easy for me to eat too many, so I put a serving in a little bowl. Rest of the evening was spent worrying about him making it back okay and putting up stuff from the trip that is STILL all over.
Decided that I am rejoining ww this weekend - there is a sunday meeting, which sounds good to me. So will do it on my own and try to NOT get into the head games that I did before (like not eating breakfast or drinking water before an afternoon meeting, or trying to wear lighter clothes on bad weeks) - please keep me honest and remind me that my health is the key, not a temporary number. Okay? Thanks! :) Annie - if those macadamias are driving you bonkers, maybe take them out and ENJOY them - savor them - with your fiance this weekend. Then they'll be GONE and the temptation not hanging over your head and no guilt. Save some extra calories and even though they're a splurge, at least the macadamia is healthy. Or are there too many to do that with? or can you work a specific amount into your menu every few days and enjoy that way with no guilt? :) |
