lovingme- Hi to you!
ange82much- I am volunteering full time every day at the local NO KILL shelter. It has his up and downs, but I so love to find the right pairing of peeps and animals. Especially the dogs, since I am the dog coordinator there. But I do love cats just as much. It's just that the dogs need me so much more :) You got animals? Later Les |
Good morning everyone!
My mini goals for today: Stay OP, walk 2 miles in under 30 minutes, finish my class prep work, laundry, weigh in tonight (hopefully, post a loss) Have a great day. |
Crazy busy at work today so I will have to check in later. Thought you guys would like to know that I am going insane. :D
I got up in a rush with a million things to do this morning, jumped on the scale looked at it and said to myself aww that's nice. I think it said 188, but I honestly don't know for sure, it could of still been 189, I have no clue. I'm losing my mind. |
Hi Everybody,
Just thought I would drop by. It's so hot and humid here in Japan and it drives me crazy, just doing everyday chores is killing, I breathe and sweat. The living room has an air conditioner but the electric bill will be terrible this month. Still I have managed some exercise the past couple of days, to day I'm taking a break. Les.....Hi, yep teenage boys can really put it away. I have two teens, 16 and 18, plus a preteen and they can really eat. I watch them and am totally amazed that they aren't sick. Dee....I'm in the insane club as well. I teach English as a second language, yesterday was my first day back and talk about being muddled. I had one guy who had to read a passage from his text book. I look at him, smile and say 'Could you eat that please?'. The guy just cracked up and that was the end of any formal teaching. Well I have a load of chores to do but don't feel up to it. Got to see that the kids are ready to start back to school next week. I am not a morning person so I really have a hard time with the early mornings that school terms mean. I am sure you will be hearing a lot of complaints on that front next week! Take care everybody Jackie |
Went on the scale this morning and had a wobbly 99kg (217.8 lbs), with the tendency to 98kg. When I got home, I did have a solid 98kg (215.6 lbs.) I am sooooooo happy!!!!
Bought me a new jeans size 18 (Lee slender secret stretch) in black, because all my old ones size 22W are kinda not staying on me anymore :) I know, I know it is not much and still a big size and I am still obese, but it is so nice to slowly sneak up on the overweight border. I also stopped talking my evening blood-pressure pills and are still around 100 to 60 since two weeks. This morning I had 91 to 49. I made pasta with tomato sauce today (homemade with veggie crumbles), and my teenager ate 3 heaping plates of it. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! He is so skinny! I wore him out today again LOL Dee- hang in there, it only can get better ROFL I have a question for you all, with my weight, should I be jogging? I feel like running a LOT lately. |
Foodfighter in the trenches
Hi, everyone. Thanks for the welcome, and glad to read how everyone is doing. I love the signatures you all have, expecially the one combating cakes, dodging donuts, etc., except I already forgot who wrote it - short term memory is shot!!!
I finally moved from Infrastructure to Application today: I used my new Elliptical ($50 Mad Bargain on Craigslist) wearing my new running shoes (snort - I'll never run again unless being chased by a hungry bear) and discount workout wear, sweating through the 20 minute Weight Loss program. I honestly didn't think I would make it, and if there were any ice cream in the freezer, would have rewarded myself. Instead, went to library and then bought dog food for the Yappy Little Dog who has been spared. :D So, made dinner for hubby, played my Facebook games, and am fighting the good fight against cravings until I can go to bed. :dizzy: |
Good Morning All!
I weighed in yesterday and had a 3 lb loss! I don't have a scale at home so the weekly WI is always a gamble/surprise. Les and FoodFighter I love dogs too. Mine is an ancient mutt. Our walks are very slow but she enjoys them still. Les Congrats on your successes. NSV are good boosts for the motivation. Jackie How exciting to live in Japan! Have you been there long? Did you move there or are you a local? FoodFighter Great deal on Craigslist! I keep looking for equipment but haven't found anything good yet... Another busy day. I'm going to try to get to the library to check out the WATP dvd's before I invest in buying any. Have a good day! |
Having a surprisingly good day here! Surrounded by temptation (today is baking day so lots of muffins, cookies and desserts) and I haven't even licked the spoon. I will admit the chocolate batter was really calling my name but I just thought of that nasty roll I have from my c-section and "POOF" the voice was gone! lol Another motivating factor added to the list...
Hubby and kids are coming home today from visiting the inlaws (hence the baking spree) so life will get hectic again. School starts here next Friday and I can SO not wait!! I love my kids dearly...but I also love peace and quiet!! ;) Maddie |
nice to see so many new names around here! Welcome to everyone.
wish i could do some personals cos there's loads of stuff i want to ask people, but i have to dash out and collect some friends from the airport in 10 min who are going to stay with us for the weekend, so i'm looking forward to that. Les - i had a dog, but he died really suddenly (heart attack?) whilst frolicing on the beach a few months ago. He was 10. A great way to go for him, but a bit of a shock for the rest of our pack!! Still missing him, sigh..... I've been perving at some doggie rescue websites recently (the dogs rescued from being put down by the pounds), especially 'staffy rescue'!!, but really i want to wait til probably about next feb before we get another as we've got heaps of travel lined up before then, so it just wouldn't be fair on a new dog - especially one that's had previous dramas. |
Foodfighter fubar
Am I allowed to use naughty acronyms? Had a normal morning, although days are humid and 90's and miserable, have to stay indoors - had a Pure bar for breakfast and feeling VIRTUOUS. :carrot: Then, inexplicably, my mouth overcame my brain and insisted that I have another Pure bar, after all, it's Pure!!! and therefore could not possibly make me fat(ter)! Once whetted, evidently, the appetite for sweet will not be denied. Having lost all virtue, I went back to the pantry, and finding only a jar of dark chocolate peanut butter, commenced to eat most of the jar. What evil is this?
Now, I am full of self-loathing and vowing never to eat again. Happily, I have a powerful stomachache and will not be able to eat anything until the middle of the night, when once again the food demon will set upon me. Where is my sword and shield, I ask? What kind of a superhero am I if I can't even control the motion of HAND TO MOUTH? Maybe I should be on another forum.... |
So sorry about your doggie. I don't know what I would do without my YLD (Yappy Little Dog)....
|
dark chocolate peanut butter?!? Wow, that sounds supberb! Never heard of it over here, and that's probably a good thing.
Sorry about your lapse ff2000. The important bit is the rest of your choices - don't worry about the odd bad one. |
Morning All!
foodfighter2000....sorry about your crappy day foodwise. Dark chocolate peanut butter...mmmm...definitely wouldn't last longer than a day or 2 in this house! Even though you ate something fairly healthy,I'm willing to bet it was the carbs that set you off on your binge. Personally, I can't eat any carbs for my first meal, otherwise I have the munchies ALL day and am battling the cravings. Protein and veggies (ie eggs and salsa,V-8 mixed with extra beet juice and a handful of almonds etc) and my day is set...no extra calories and tummy feels good. We're a YDFH here....(yappy dog free house)! Give us a dog over 100 pounds and now you're talking! ;) Our current guy is 120 pounds and is a black lab amstaff cross. Great personality but slobber galore! ugh! He's a rescue dog as well, previous owners were going to put him down at 5 years old because they didn't want him anymore. (shaking her head at some people) Hope everyone has an awesome calorie AND exercise day!! Maddie |
Greetings all! New here found 3FC yesterday, and estatic that I did. Beginning on my WL journey again and for the final time! Had a good food day yesterday finished eating with still 100 cal to spare! (fist pump!) Just getting over a horrible virus so I plan to start daily excercise next week, I've been enjoying the Zumba infomercials, caved and of course it arrived just as I got sick...so next week, I'm dancin people! :)

FF2000 Off the PB&C
ange82much and maddieD, thanks for the encouragement, today is going much better. The dark chocolate peanut butter is to-die-for and comes from Henry's, a local farmer's market type chain, and gluten-free which is the kiss of death for me, but I think the solution for me is like the rest of all things good: don't bring it into my house! sigh.
Here's to a much better day, and to Big Dogs, and good houseguests, wish I had either, TGIF. FF2000 |
[QUOTE= but I think the solution for me is like the rest of all things good: don't bring it into my house! sigh.
[/QUOTE] I hear ya...:( Hubby is already b*!@#%ing about no chips and pepsi in the house) Maddie |
ange82much- Sorry for you lose! Makes sense to wait a bit and have lots of time to intigrate the new family addition :)
superhero- I believe I lost the fight as well (Pizza). About sweets, I want them, boy do I want them, but when going shopping I make sure I don't buy them, because if they are in the house I already lost the fight. Maddie- LOL, I like the big dogs to, especially the ones who already have a personality (comes with age:)), but always end up with the leftover crazy ones, which are always small dogs. CoCo- Hi to you as well :) Back to feeding the family.... Seams like all I am doing is cooking! |
I have finally come out of hiding. I have been avoiding 3FC for the past 10 days. The binge/depression spiral hit bottom, I think. I've been taking positive steps again and had my first no binge day in awhile yesterday.
Medicating with food doesn't work anymore. I was so exhausted & depressed last week that I thought I was having thyroid problems. But I think it was the sugar. Yesterday I ate well & exercised and I feel pretty good this morning. I have updated my ticker finally & the gain isn't that horrible. I'm not going to focus on the scale, but on eating nutritious food and daily exercise. Glad to be back. Missed y'all. :) |
Happy Monday to you all! I hope everyone had a good weekend and was successful with their plans!
I found it very easy to stay within my calories this weekend. :carrot: I think maybe it's the mental calm that has precipitated my journey into weight loss for the final time. I'm ready, I'm doing it and whew about time!:D |
Hi Friends!!
I am still around, at some point in time my weight has reached 188 so guess I will be stuck there for a while. :D I will have to get some time & read through everything again & catch up on personals. Hi to the new people. :) I am so totally overwhelmed right now. My pregnant teenager is okay but I spent the day at the hospital with her the other day. Very sick, very weak, dizzy, etc. etc. She is fine, the baby is fine but she is really having a rough time. My two other teenagers know that she needs the extra attention right now & they know that I am doing the best that I can to work, get Ree healthy & just stay on top of everything, but they still are jealous. The two healthy girls are helping with chores & doing what they are suppose to do (I require all the kids that we take in to do chores & participate in household things if they are able), but right now I have 3 very clingy teenagers & I am going nuts!!!!! I have not even been able to go to the bathroom since Saturday without one of the girls knocking on the door needing something or wanting to know when I will be done. My husband keeps telling me things will get back to normal but I honestly believe that he is just telling me that while trying to convince himself. So everybody have a good day/week, I will check in when I can. |
So glad you posted

Wow, welcome to all the newbies! I kind of got involved in craziness here and haven't checked in for a while. My ds 19 aka stupid boy is getting married on 9/5 and is trying to get into the army as they have both lost their jobs in the last few weeks. My dd 25 who doesn't speak to me had a relapse of her cushings disease after the first surgery to remove the tumor from her pituitary gland, and now their going to remove her adrenal glands. I heard by way of mouth that they were debating radiation because of my breast cancer and her high risk. I did what I thought was a nice thing and emailed her the research I had done on my diagnosis and offered to allow my oncologist to go over my records with her if it would help. Apparently that contact made me an ogre and she went on a witch hunt to find out who's giving me info. I have been riding to work with my young friend to work out at the gym in the mornings. On friday she cancelled at the last minute so I hit the fitness center here at the apartment and the pool before work. My eating on the weekends has been atrocious however. My weight is holding steady, but I really need to see some movement on the scale! Unfortunately the same young friend apparently fell apart at work today due to stress issues and will be out for a while. So I have to go back to bus-hopping. Which isn't terrible as we've finally had a break in the heat and humidity. I just have to figure out how to get the earlier bus so I still have time for the gym 1st. I'm thinking with things picking up on the board maybe we need to go back to weekly forums?
I hope everyone got a great start to the week! Kathi |
Hello friends, new and old.....one and all!
I am officially moved into my new home!! Still haven't got the home computer up and running yet. I would have been jones-ing for internet had I not been so busy working. Still have lots to do....have to finish at the old house tonight and then work on unpacking/organizing the new place. So I may be scarce for a while still. I am so tired of eating out! All the calories and the cost.:dizzy: Getting my kitchen back in business is my first priority starting tomorrow evening. Even with my out-of-whack eating and not exercising (older son promises to get the DVD player working tonight), I still lost almost 2 pounds!! What a treat when I stepped on the scale yesterday. I am not taking it for granted and plan to get back on plan ASAP!!! Not even going to try to catch up on personals, but you all seem to be doing great. :carrot: Welcome to all of our new friends!! |
Morning All!
This week is having its ups and downs. Up....I've lost 2.8 pounds! :carrot: Actually,I hate to admit this, but I just guesstimated my starting weight. Figured it was around 220...might have been more or a smidge less but at least now I have a firm number. A big downer is headed my way....Hurricane Earl. :?: Right now they are guessing that he'll hit as barely a category 2, but with our way warmer temps since June....it wouldn't surprise me if he hit as a barely cat 3. UGH! So as a result,I'm doing laundry and prepping for his arrival. We do have a generator so at least I can still come here! ;) Hope everyone is having a great week! Maddie |
