PeanutsMom, I'm glad it has been a good month for you. I hope things are falling into place with your son. Congratulations on your 30-pound chickie, that is a BIG DEAL!!! Wow!

Hey Girls,

I had a ruff week and skiing yesterday really wiped me out!! I weighed in on Thursday night and lost ONE pound. I was expecting more, but I wouldn't trade it. I think going gung ho last week exercising really shocked my body and I'm retaining water or something or I'm in denial. However, I'm not giving up and I'm continuing my exercising.

Well, I just added a ticker to my signature. How do you like it?

Just Jess I love the ticker!! Wow, 23 pounds lost, that is awesome! I know it's disappointing when the loss isn't as great as you hoped, but it's not a race and down is down. So for that I say congratulations!

This week's weigh in showed a whopping... wait for it... 0.2 lbs. Sigh. Down is down, yeah? Not so sure I'll hit my goal by 2/28. 4 pounds in 7 days? Meh.

NewLeaf, congrats on finally saying g'bye to 166. You're such an inspiration!

PeanutsMom, nice 30 lb chick! Good for you for hitting goal early. Enjoy this last week.

LoriAnn, so close, so close!

Just Jess, keep strong and steady.

I need to clarify that 254 was my heighest weight ever. That was in April 2008. When I joined this forum I weighed 239. So, however you or I calculate it, it is weght loss, and I'll celebrate every pound. I was just expecting more.

I had my measurements taken in August. I really haven't done much as far as weight loss (even added some~4 lbs) since then until I joined this forum the end of January. I then commensed to exercise and eat healthy. I have lost 8 lbs. I was expecting more in three weeks but then I had my measurements done again and have removed 6.75 inches off my body. I can feel the difference....

I took 25 years to put on 90 pounds and I can't lose it overnight. I'll just keep doing what I've been doing the last three weeks and eventually the weight will melt away. Thanks for listening. You guys really help me...Jess

YEA! Goal for Feb was 271-273. I'm 273 this morning! Maybe I can pull off 271 too!

Hi All,
I lost 2 pounds this week.
I am kind of disappointed I really worked hard.

Tigga it's all a matter of outlook. If I lost 2 pounds in a week because I worked really hard, I would be thrilled! What is it about a 2-pound loss that is disappointing? What kind of loss were you hoping to see? (I mean those as positive, supportive questions, to help you think through your thoughts and help us understand them so we can help you)

It's a long, slow process. You can choose to go through it disappointed by every pound loss or pleased over every pound loss. I've chosen the latter. I was originally really very frustrated when I started off, but then realized that I needed to embrace each pound on the way down because I was going to have to pass through each one regardless.

Lori Ann Hooray on making your goal!!!

JustJess Congratulations on your 8 pounds; I'm glad that coming here helps.

Losing80 I hear you; 0.2 down is really quite frustrating. The problem with these date-based goals is that they make it easy (in my opinion and in my experience) to throw in the towel really easily. It's easy to say (not saying you are saying this) that you'll throw in the towel because it's clear you won't do the 4 pounds in a week, so you may as well wait until March. I've fallen victim to that pitfall in that in the past; I hope you avoid it! Just carry on this week as if you still have something that you are working towards (maybe 1 pound this week??) and keep on trucking... In my experience, once I "step to the side" for a bit, it's hard to get back on the downward trend.

Here, a bad weekend of eating. But it's behind me. I think the scale was 163.5 this morning. So... I may not hit 161.4 after all, but I'm still working towards it and still feeling good.

Thank you Hiedi for the encouraging words
I was discouraged because I didn't think it was enough on the last weigh in for my 7 week at work challenge but it was I have taken first place.
so it did pay off.

thanks again

Tigga, I'm glad things worked out in the end.

Here, 161.x is within reach for my weigh-in tomorrow, but not a guarantee... I really want to see that number to be close to my month's goal!

this week is definitely going to be a washout for me in terms of loss.

I haven't decided for sure, but I'm thinking of re-doing my starting weight, ticker, etc. to convert to my new scale, and to also re-set based on the gain I expect to see this week. I've been weighing on both scales, but that's crazy. I'd have to bump myself up to somewhere around 233 - most of that is the new scale though!!! And I'd re-set my start weight to give credit for what I have lost already. Part of me wants to just get this over with - the new scale seems more accurate and more closely matches the one at the doctor's office, plus I want to use it because I can measure in .2 increments with it.

On the other hand, it will be kind of depressing to have to fight to get back into the 220s again, and be that much further from Onederland, so I haven't completely made up my mind.

PeanutsMom, that's a bummer... but you have to remember that *you* and your accomplishment haven't change, just the instrument has. I'd recommend just cutting over to the new scale, readjusting all your numbers, and not looking back. The constant comparison has got to be frustrating!
