Last night my husband helped me do the golf, that is really hard. He's great at it, but he's played real golf before. But instead of hitting for 30 to 50, I actually got THREE on the spot around the hole! I hit for 102, 101, and some 90's.. then I had some all lower from 30 to 90.. but the low ones I knew they would be low cause I wobbled, or just didn't do the swing like he'd showed me
I hope today the wiiboard lets me chang emy goal haha. I'll set it to minus 2, not plus 2 oops. It's been disappointing all week to lose weight only to be shown nono, you need to gain haha. Oops. Got my husband's set up right though! |
I have a question about space. My house is VERY small. I only have a 5' x 8' space to do any exercise in. And that has a bookshelf on one side. Will I be able to fully utilize a Wii if I get one? I asked for one for my birthday, but I'm wondering....

Wanttobefit-I'm not sure what all you want to do with your Wii but that would be adequate to use a Wii Fit for sure.

My Gold's Gym Cardio rental finally came. Tried it out tonight for the first time. Unfortunately, I had already walked the dogs and done some Wii Fit so I wasn't up for a long hard workout but I instantly liked this game. I don't know what it is with me and boxing but I seem to have some affinity for it. I can see me spending hours doing this.
I hadn't used my Wii Fit for awhile and when I did my Body Test tonight it said I had lost 2.9 lbs since the last time I was on it. That's always a nice feeling. I also did the rhythm parade tonight which I hadn't done in ages. Last time was a total disaster, just couldn't coordinate myself. I did much better tonight. In fact, I unlocked the advanced level. |
I take back what I said about spending hours doing the Gold's Gym boxing video. Now that I've finished all the basic lessions, about 15 minutes of the exercises is enough to kick my butt! I can aspire to doing hours of it

I love love love my Wii.
Had to get that out in the open! I just got "Walk it out" and I did two miles on that this morning. I am recovering from a back injury so I have to be very careful and the Walk it Out was perfect. Someone also mentioned the "just dance" game. That is a hoot! For anyone who doesn't think that Wii Fit or other Wii Games are a workout - talk to my heart rate monitor! I get in the zone each time I do the workouts! I can't wait until I'm stronger so I can do the Gold's Gyrn and Fitness Trainer games. Some things on Wii fit make me laugh so hard. Ever tried heading the soccer balls? It's hard enough for me but then they throw shoes and panda heads! By the time two or three shoes smack me I'm cracking up. |
Petra -
Glad you are enjoying Golds Gym - I haven't done it in a while, since I was sick, and now I've been using some of the different non-Wii exercise "videos" that I get through On Demand on my cable. But I know that Golds Gym is one I will definitely get back to and keep using over time. I really need to force myself to do some of the ducking and weaving stuff - I love, love, love the basic punching, but I know I need to move the rest of my body too! I usually do more of a stepping thing with my feet rather than just shifting my weight the way they show - I'm sure my boxing form isn't that great, but that helps me boost the calorie burn and that is of course my bigger goal. |

i LOVE love love love LOVE my wii fit plus.
i'm also doing the 21 day challenge so my "challenge" was to do at least 20 minutes on my wii fit daily. i usually do more than that though lol my favorites are-- rhythm parade advanced boxing free step ( usually 10 minutes twice a day ) free run basic run penguin one where you slide on the ice seems after a workout im so energized for the day instead of that sluggish feeling :) |
Peanutsmom-we've missed you lately. Hope you are feeling better. My boxing form isn't great either but I try. I'm not very good at the ducking and weaving either. I know that is something I will have to keep working at it-I love the whole body workout part of it.

I really like free step and free jog, I set it for 20 minutes and then watch tv. I find jog is hard to keep a rhythm, I can't quite find the right way to pocket the remote so it's consistant. The tv shows it in a back pocket, is that really the best way?

I rented The Biggest Loser game. I played it for the first time last night. Not sure what I think about it yet. Will have to try it a few times before I decide whether I like it or not. Seems like I worked awfully hard for not a very big calorie payoff.

I just stick the wiimote in my side pocket and walk on my treadmill but watch the free run scenery go by.
Someone tell me more about Walk It Out. Will that give me new scenery to look at? :) A. |
My piggy turned bronze! I'm so happy! I thought it would never happen.

We got Wii Fit plus for my dd last week and she's having a BLAST with it. She's 9 and has been in the high percentile for weight since she was about 4. Bless her heart, she's inherited Mama's tendency to gain weight. Her brother is the opposite, skinny as a rail.
We're eating healthy as a family. She's given up all sodas and I can already tell a difference. Quick question tho - does the scale on the Wii Fit run on the light side? When we did her fit test, she was lower than what she thought. One more quick question - my scale broke - can you use the Wii fit as a scale only? |
