Newleaf, the cool thing about your son already having H1N1 is that he won’t need the vaccine and you know that he’s recovering. And the rest of the week off from school is every child’s (and mine) idea of utopia.
Joy, congrats on the 10 pounds lost and the reward. :carrot: I liked your analogy with alcoholics and stress. Very true! Cruise, I could never have done all 4 without Liz’s guidance. An animal behaviorist that does the work in your home/neighborhood is priceless. Good job on taking your DMV frustrations out on the treadmill. When my GDS’s biological mother makes me really mad, I take it out on the elliptical (OK I admit occasionally I pretend she’s under the foot pedals). :o Gives me a great workout! OMW, I’m so glad that you have a friend that has gone through the process. That helps alleviate some of the unknown. And that DD is your trainer is priceless. Take her up on it. My kids and I (they were about 19-20 at the time) got me doing DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) with them and they told me I was the coolest mom in the world that I’d play the hip video game with them. It’s truly a bonding opportunity so grab it. BTW, I told DD to bring DDR with her at Thanksgiving because I want to play. She was excited that I wanted to play again and has gathered all the parts at her apt already. GivTLC, welcome to the group. I love the avatar picture but I’m just guessing that you’re already a flower. How couldn’t you be when you love the support and encouragement? So glad you joined us! Newleaf (again), wow, I read your DS’s timeline and it sounds vaguely familiar. I started my illness 3.5 weeks ago with a stomach flu and was miserable. I felt better for 1.5 days then, bam I was very sick with a cold, fever and cough. My asthma went into a tailspin and my lung capacity had gone down 30%. I still have a lingering cough but that’s it. The lung capacity is at about 90% so I’m nearly done. Hmm, makes me wonder since it’s so similar timeline to your son’s. Thanks so much for the info. Penguin, customer service is nearly a lost art in our country. I bought a refurbished Hoover vacuum through Woot. 6 month warranty. Out of the box the brush doesn’t spin. Yesterday I call Hoover and the dingbat says that refurbished only means that they wipe it down. The belts are loose and those they don’t replace. I’m like, hello, wipe it down??? Not turn it on??? My call was elevated to someone with a brain and they are sending two new belts and apologized. So if Hoover can’t get much right, I guess Champion wouldn’t either. BTW, apparently posting company complains on the internet (youtube, facefook) is getting manufactures attention more than letters. Losermom, welcome back!!!!! :carrot: I’ve missed you!!! I don’t think I ever responded (I did but lost the post) that I went to college in your neck of the woods. I went to Gustavus and one of my favorite boyfriends was from Mankato State. I love where you live. WLW, I don’t want the nasal one either so I’m waiting for the shot. I figure my nasal passages have been angry for over 3 weeks, no need to make them angrier. Well off to the appliance store to get a part for my Amana fridge/freezer. It’s a piece of yucky, never buy it. It’s always falling apart. I liked my old fridge better that was ½ the price from Sears. But alas, this is what I own, so I just keep buying parts for it. |
maggie, I'm happy your cold is gone! I have just a little nose drip left - just enough to make me cough every now and then. Don't you just hate that the foods that make you feel the worst are the ones with the powerful pull? Sorry you had an awful night. Maybe you could write down the whole experience, and then pull it out and read it before you indulge again? How are you liking the new job?
Cindy, thanks for the info on the armbands - I've already been scoping the waterproof ones that can go in the pool. :D It's fun to try on those clothes from the back of the closet - I wore a pair of pants to work yesterday that I actually had to DUST before I put them on  DMV = Aggravation. It's universal. I'm grateful that MI has updated the technology so that I can do the vast majority of stuff online. I hate that place too! marie, I'm right in the same boat with you - I had to make peace with the idea that some small piece of attention will always need to be devoted to what my hand is moving toward my mouth. It is what it is, because like you, I'm not going back! Congrats on the all-around happy dog walk! Oh, I did take some inspiration from your photo of the 149 ... I took one too and plan to print it and hang it on the refrigerator. :) I definitely know it's mine because I can see my toasted toenail from the hiking experience - still growing out! Heidi - glad to hear DS is on the mend and y'all are doing well with the H1N1. I'm almost a bit jealous, because that immunity has to be better than the shot. I'm sure the disruption in your routine is a bit aggravating! gardener - way to go with the 10 lb loss! GivTLC - welcome! I'm with ya on the not-ready-for-the-cold! patch - sorry to hear about DH's back - hope he's not one of the, um, "challenging" types when not feeling par. At least he took you up on the yoga suggestion! :) I support you completely on detailing the Champion fiasco, and if you get anything less than a personal phone call from an executive, or at the very least, a personal letter, I wouldn't do business with them again. They should be grateful as heck that you took that cr*p 3 times and STILL gave them money. losermom - I think there's just some of us that are impervious to flu bugs - I never catch it either! wlw - nice to see you! Hope the flu shot goes well! I've pondered hard on the H1N1 shots. I've never gotten one, and our family is uniquely healthy for the most part. I don't plan to get one for myself, but I do wonder about DS10. With this bug being particularly hard on the young, I struggle with the dilemma of the safety and efficacy of the shot (I'm deeply suspicious of vaccinations) versus the worst-case scenario. I'd like to see a lot of hard-core, objective data on who's seeing the worst reactions, and I haven't found it. |
Today's luncheon went very well. We have a good group this year. Its misting and overcast with a brief shot of sunshine.
We have a 'vendors' section to my exercise forum I was going to post a thread detailing my issues with them. A lot of people order during the bra sales. Cruise, http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/weig...hing-size.html This is a link to the thread. Marie, LOL, on the customer service story. |
Wow, so much going on with everyone! I had a not-so-good week when it came to staying on plan as well as frequent headaches. When I don't feel well worrying about food and exercise goes out the window! Ate fairly well yesterday and today. Got on the scale and did a great workout at the gym utilizing all my pt exercises plus plenty of cardio. I'm still doing the shimmy between 166-168 and showed 167 mid-day after a good breakfast so I didn't really gain. Time for another 2lb whoosh! They were doing the yearly benefits fair at work so I got my free flu shot, worked out then got a free chair massage. Made an appointment with the chiropracter doing the massages to see what I can do about the headaches and stiff neck still hanging on after my car accident. Also found out that one of the colleges in our area is offering a full scholarship for breast cancer patients/survivors and I might qualify. So it was definitely worth spending a few hours at work on my day off! A friend took me out for dinner tonight and I was sooo good - he got the chocolate chip cheesecake for dessert and I only had 1 bite : )
|
Evening Ladies!
Hope your all doing well... Today was a crappy weather day here...good for ducks and penguins :p I am sooo not ready for winter *dyes her hair blue and drives south* I did good staying on my food plan but I was not able to go for my daily 2 mile walk after work :( I really need to find some good exercises that I can do at home. Hard for me to work out here at home with everyone running about bugging me! lol Sheesh was that just yet another excuse not to exercise?? So much easier to spend hours reading posts on 3FC ;) newleaf~I'm outside of Philadelphia...Valley Forge area :) Have a great night and thanks everyone for such a warm welcome  |
Just a quick note
OnMyWay, I am sorry for the results, but glad you caught it. Did your husband see it, how did you notice it?
That is what worries me being single, nobody to notice those hidden things. I a sure you are going to be just fine and it will be more of an inconvenience than anything. Good for you to get out your Wii, I think I will too! Still doing pretty good, walking every day and I tried on a pair of pants that used to be tight and they are snug, but I can get them on. I have one pair if jeans that is the one I want to get into! Trying to not eat at night, I found the grapefruit with some sweetNLow is not bad!!!! I learned that here! I try to save during the day, but find it pretty hard to save my calories, I am just hungry. need to add more fiber or something! Glad to see you all posting and good luck to those that weight this weekend! I will post back!:dizzy::dizzy::dizzy: |
Morning, everyone!
wlw - I avoided the chiropractic professions for 38 years and ended up nearly having surgery on a perfectly good shoulder that had nerves aggravated from an old neck injury, manifesting as chronic tendonitis. There are horror stories, and there's "miracles" ... but I'm a believer. The horror stories and miracles dog the medical profession too! I think it's worth the time to find one that's schooled in the more recent technologies like NUCCA - they don't do any "cracking". Much more gentle. I only go about every two months now. :) DS10 had my back last night, bless his heart ... I met a friend for lunch and was about 250 calories over going into dinner time, and wondering how to manage it. My wonderful kid says, "Let's go out. I like Subway best, and you can get a healthy choice there." It was a great "mom moment"! Still hedging on the iPod - stuck on figuring out which size of memory I should get. I don't expect to have much in the way of video ... does anybody know if podcasts take up a lot of room? I have a lot of audio seminars that I'd like to add to it. |
Becky - What a sweet mom moment. As for the podcast it depends if they are audio/video or just audio. Roughly, each 4G will hold about 65 hours of audio or 4 hrs. of video. Those numbers drop if you also keep pictures on it. It also depends on 'bit rate" of the file.
BTW - I have to hear the banana story you were talking about on the other thread. I'm off to the dentist this AM then Costco. Will take a nap today before going down to LAX tonight..... I'm so excited!!! |
Hi all
ICU, where do you get your audio downloads?
Cruise good luck at the dentist and LAX. I fly out of Burbank as much as possible and try to avoid LAX. One time Iwas there I had to hit the deck as there was a shooter! Did well last night, ate another half of grapefruit and ....saurkraut. Does that tell you how much I enjoy munching at night. Yuck, what a crazy mix and thank goodness not all at the same time. Well, have a good day and willl post weight tomorrow, hopefully a loss! :D:goodluck: |

I LOVE WEEKENDS and FRIENDLY SCALES!!!!
ICU, enjoy your 149 picture. It was so motivating to me that I couldn’t resist. I love the toasted toenail. Something to remember your success and the hike. By the way, I use the otterbox for my ipod. I think an explosion in the pool could go off and my ipod would still be protected. :o I bought after reading reviews of the waterproof ipod cases and this one topped the list. When I got a new ipod, DS gave me a new otterbox for Christmas so my ipod touch would be protected as well. They sell an armband for it too.
WLW, oh my gosh, that would be so awesome to get a full scholarship. Please, please apply. I did my bachelors degree in the normal time frame after high school and pretty much wasted my parents’ money and my time. I went back for my masters when I was 30. It was the best thing I ever did. I went with the attitude that I was going to soak up every piece of information possible since it was my $$$ on the line and DH and I were poor. Graduated with all A’s and one obnoxious A- (can you tell it still bugs me???). Going to college as a non-traditional student is so much more beneficial. Maturity does have it’s rewards.:D GivTLC, before my treadmill and elliptical, I used Leslie Sansone’s Walking series. I liked the 1 mile jog best but she has some decent low impact routines. I used them when I was in Bangkok for 3 weeks with no access to my normal exercise. I lost very little cardio fitness in the time because of the DVDs. ICU, your son is precious. Subway – how cool. Ipod info: I use audiobooks a lot so I’m thinking podcasts might be similar. A ten hour book is approximately 100 MB. So on an 8 GB ipod touch/iphone, you could have 80 books. The videos take a bit more room, but not too bad because the resolution is small so the file size is smaller. I have an 8 GB iphone with loads of apps and about 250 songs on it. I use about 3 GB. My ipod touch is 32 GB and it has about 20 movies, 2500 songs and usually about 10 audiobooks at a time. I think I use about 20 GB of space. I hope that helps. Cruise, enjoy the reunion. :o Know I am jealous!!!! But not of the dentist! :) DMC – that was a disgusting nighttime snack. :p No wonder you are having such a hard time with nighttime munchies. BTW, I have been an audible.com member for about 8 years – I love audiobooks and find the $$$ well worth the piles of entertainment I get from listening to bestsellers, new releases and authors I just discovered. They have lots of sales/promotions as well to feed my habit. Miss Sasha and I are off to the vet this afternoon. I took the day off and it’s gorgeous out. The dogs and I are going to walk in a little bit, then I’m going to elliptical. I got to knock another pound off my ticker. It surreal that I have 10 pounds left to my goal. The next pound off the ticker will be the single digits. I’m really trying to wrap my mind around it. I like the mind-boggling-iness of it all. :D Marie |
CAT and Marie - thanks for the info on the memory needs - that settles the issue. I'm going for the 32G. :) I won't have much video, but it will definitely be packed with music and audio. I will, however, find the Tabasco commercial with the mosquito and the guy eating pizza ... that NEVER fails to get me back into a good mood! And I appreciate the info on the Otterbox from a dedicated swimmer.
Marie - congrats on having the end in sight! I hope you're checking out the Maintenance forums, because you'll be there before you know it! And yes ... being at goal is a little surreal for me, and I only lost 25. Your task has required much more time and effort. How are you going to reward yourself? It should be something major! dmc - I don't have audiobooks so much as I have a bunch of audio seminars on tons of topics that interest me. I just never have had a good spot to listen to them. In a few weeks, I'll be starting to swim for distance, and I'll have opportunities to listen to one for 30 minutes straight. Now THAT'S some awesome multitasking! As someone who's eaten sauerkraut out of the jar with a fork ... I congratulate you on your low-cal, tangy, gut-healthy choice ... but wow, anywhere near grapefruit? Sounds like you might be hooked on the chewing/full mouth sensation, to which I can totally relate. I think I went through a pack of gum per day last winter while I was breaking that habit. Gooooooood luck! CAT, best wishes with the dentist - I hope that's the end of the crown debacle! Drive safely! Re the banana, just picture me getting caught in my cubicle at lunchtime, ruler in hand, trying to figure out where to measure a curved fruit from ... let's just say the guy's answer was "from the base". They love to take the longest possible measurement, don't they? wlw - I second Marie's recommendation about school - same exact thing happened to me. (I had a B stuck in there, though!). You have so much more context to put new information in, when you're older. Go for it! |
I'm so excited.... just got back from shopping and I tried on a size 10 dress and it was too big. The thought of trying on the 8 was scary but I loved the dress and there was no way I was going to buy something that was too big. I took the 8 to the dressing room and just stared at it for like 2 minutes thinking there is NO WAY this is going to fit but it did. I also found a pair of carpi's size 8 that fit. I guess it really does go to show they are making clothes bigger but sizing smaller. The 8's in my closet are still too tight.... had to come home and double check.... LOL
|
BTW - Dentist went great last crown is in and I am done until my cleaning next month.
|
Cindy - WOW!!!! :woohoo: Size 8! Now THAT'S serious reinforcement! Congratulations! Big yay, too, on the crown! Hope your nap is peaceful ... I am SO jealous. :)

ICUwishing: With flu shots, I'm really thinking that if you would ordinarily get the seasonal flu shot, it makes sense to get both that and the H1N1. If you ordinarily don't get the flu shot, for any reason, it makes sense to not get the H1N1. I heard a story yesterday that the mainland European countries aren't even recommending H1N1 to any but the highest risk patients -- they didn't have as much of an outbreak as we did last spring and just aren't getting as excited about it.
patchworkpenguin: thanks for the link to the size thread -- very interesting! weightlosswanted: good job on the 1 bite of cheesecake! Hope the scholarship works out for you! And, I'm another with nontrad student experience. Being an adult learner is great! GivTLC: yay for staying on the food plan! Do you have any room to yourself? I exercise in my office, watching exercise videos on the laptop. Or, take the opposite approach and involve the whole family -- anyone who steps into the living room right now is doing Walk Away The Pounds! dmc2009: great job on the consistency of your walking! CruiseCAT: Have a great reunion! Yay for the size 8 dress! Marie: way to go on another pound! I can't remember the last time I've seen sunshine. Maybe tomorrow. I'm roasting sweet potatoes for a salad at family gathering tomorrow. A cozy warm smell for a cloudy day. The leaves in our yard are yellow -- so at least we have something bright to look at. |
CruiseCAT - I love your new avatar... You look great!!
|
Cruise: absolutely beautiful!
|
CAT - you're not a CAT!!!! You're a FOX, baby! Mack is gonna LOVE the new dress!
|
T.G.I.F Ladies! Looks like we all made it through the week :carrot:
Marie~Thanks for mentioning Leslie Sansone's Walking...I found it on the exercise channel! I was able to do her 2 mile walk...not a bad workout for someone who's just getting into the whole exercise world...I worked up a nice sweat!! gardenerjoy hehe @ involving the whole family...I'm gonna have to try that! or I could send them to another room to clean! CruiseCAT You look amazing! I'd wanna go out dancing in that dress...you rock it! Well today was another good one...we had more :rain: but I was able to do some exercise here at home...I was happy about that. Tomorrow is my WW meeting, so I will be getting weighed in...gawd that's my least favorite thing to do in the entire world LoL Hope everyone has some good plans for the weekend that include healthy eating and moving that body some ;) Huggies, Giv |
Wow Cat! Size 8!
I missed you all. I have been taking care of my family, they are all sick with a bad chest cold with fever. So far I have not gotten sick. Work was busy this week and the time went fast it seems. It is below freezing outside and raining....waaaa, I don't like winter with my autumn. Hope you all are doing well.:grouphug: |
Cruise - way to go!!
giv - good luck on your weigh in. gardenerjoy - the leaves in our yard are on the ground, so we'll be gathering them up as soon as the rain stops. It's that time of year when our 250 year old oak tree sheds its canopy. Truly a lot of leaves. ICU - you listen to audio programs while you swim? How do you do that? Marie - congrats for making it to single digits. Woohoo! dmc - grapefruit and sauerkraut? Mmmmm. Hopefully, not at the same time. I just finished my second week at my new job and I'm wiped again. I'm so glad that I was quite fit when I started this new job. I can only imagine how much worse I'd be feeling if I still wasn't exercising and I was eating poorly. |
Good morning and Happy Saturday!
Pressmaggie, glad the job is going well. Isn't a good feeling to think about how different things would be if you had not lost weight. Really helps to validate all of your hard work! Hydra, hope that cold stays far away from you. We have also had a lot of rain and cold here so I agree about no winter in my autumn! Giv, sending you good wishes for your weigh in today! Gardener, I'm with you on this lousy weather. We did have a great summer but please! Cruise, Have a great trip to get Mack. Your avatar is HOT! You look great! ICU, loved your subway story. Alex sounds like a great kid! Very thoughtful! Sounds like you are having fun shopping for that Ipod! Marie, single digits, How amazing is that! Enjoy it! WLW, great news on the scholarship! That would be fantastic! DMC, I found my spot. Sad to day it has been there for quite some time. Asked my reg. Dr. about it a couple years ago and he said dry skin. NOT! Oh well. Munching on saurkraut! LOL! Newleaf, How si your son? Will he be back to school Monday? Losermom, glad to see you again! Keep coming back we miss you! Sorry if I miised anyone! Off to do some errands. I'm hoping for a little sun today! |
Saturday morning here and the weather has taken a turn for warmer temps thank goodness. I'm tired of the rain and dreariness! Yesterday I was feeling like I had no friends and that I was all alone this weekend--I really needed some Lady Time with my girlfriends. We do get together as least 2x a month. But my one gf only lives a block away and she and I made a deal a couple of months ago. When we are feeling like that, we need to call/text. Yesterday, I did it. And while she is busy today--we are going to do something outside on Sunday. Yeah me for being proactive! This friend of mine is super fit and active. Usually we take our dogs for a long, long walk and talk--that sounds good to me!
Cat, you do look HAWT (as the young girls say) in your new avatar! Hydra, I wish everyone in your house wellness. I hope it isn't the h1n1. One of my student workers was diagnosed with the regular seasonal flu on Thursday. She offered to some into work on Friday, bless her heart! I told her no--stay home and rest. ICU, enjoy your new itouch! I have the 8gb and love it. I listen to podcasts (Inside Out Weight Loss) while doing my cardio. We also load it with movies and fun games when we travel. DS14 and I played tons of Scrabble with it on vaca this summer. Presmaggie, have you noticed how much easier life is when you are taking good care of yourself? I sure have. Congrats on making it to the restful weekend. |
GivTLC: Yay for getting your exercise done!
Hydra: hope you get our sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures soon. presmaggie: congrats on finishing another week -- I hope it soon reaches a point where it doesn't wipe you out. Onmyway: hope you get to enjoy our sunshine! We're driving out to the country today, so we get to take advantage of it. losermom: good for you for working something out with your friend We have sunshine! I'm going to be off the internet for a couple of days -- hope everyone has a great weekend! |
No loss
So maybe the grapefruit and saurkrout diet isn't so good huh?
Ugh. Whatever, I munched away the night and am going to pay for it the next couple of days. I am depressed but going for my walk and maybe later hitting the gym. Back on the plan today! |
Afternoon Ladies!!!
Another rainy day here...but lots to keep me busy inside...I went to my meeting this morning and I lost another 1.2 pds this week...it's been 3 months since I've been on WW and I've dropped 26 pounds so far and I am feeling great! ;) Have a great weekend and keep on working your programs!! |
Cruise, I love the avatar. You look phenomenal. It’s pretty amazing the differences in a size between the many manufactures. Enjoy that size 8 because you deserve it.
Joy, I love the idea of roping anyone who walks into the room into WATP. Too funny. GivTLC, YEAH!!!!! on the weight loss. You're doing great. Absolutely great. I’m glad you got to try out Leslie’s workout. I know that her stuff is what started me on the path of fitness. Now it’s a bit too tame, but in a crunch it’s wonderful. If I hadn’t started with the easy workouts, I’d never be in the best shape I’ve ever been in my life. I hope the weigh in goes great. Hydra, wow you’re only 2 pounds away from your Halloween goal. That’s awesome. I hope your family begins to recover. Presmaggie, that’s such an awesome way to look at your life change. Keep up the great work of eating good and exercising. The new job will level off and you won’t be so tried. Also you were sick for quite a bit! OMW, because of you, I keep looking at a mole on my back that I think is changing and odd. My reg doctor said it looked fine. Since you had that said to you and it wasn’t fine, I’m going to make an appointment with a dermatologist on Monday. I hope the removal goes smoothly and that be the end of it. LM, great job on contacting your friend for girl time. I bet you have a great chat tomorrow. DMC, do you chart out your weights? I have for years and I noticed a pattern every month. The third week of my cycle, I whoosh 90% of the monthly weight loss. The other 3 weeks there will be an occasional loss but mostly fluctuations up and down. As irritating as the evil scale is on those 3 weeks, I now know that it’s just the way my body is. Maybe you have a similar pattern. You’ve lost 5 pounds and are doing great – you’re 25% of the way to your goal I spent my day off yesterday rearranging my house. I moved my piano from my living room into my bedroom and the shelving system from the bedroom. That piano was heavy. I only put on dent in a drywall corner. Oops. The piano is mahagony and the rest of my living room/great room is light oak. It always looked out of place. The light oak shelving system looks great. The room is totally matched. Now my bedroom, it's all light oak as well but I usually have my eyes shut when I'm in there. One good thing about the move is I can leave my sheet music out and might play more often. I already played this morning - the first time since I brok my wrist in April. I've been dreading starting again and pushed it off, and off, and off. So I plunged right in this morning. Both Kai and Sasha came running at the sound, jumped on the bed and watched. It was pretty cool. BTW, Sasha had her initial new dog to the family vet appt yesterday. She's healthy as can be. And she's adapting beautifully. And I'm totally in love with her! Marie |
Thanks for the well wishes ladies. I think I am past the point of catching whatever virus that my family has, they are all doing much better today.
I met my Halloween goal! I weighed this morning and wow, 30 pounds lost now, that is six pounds away from me being half way to goal. I will have to take some pics then and post them. losermom - friends are so important. I am glad you will be spending time this weekend with a friend. giveTLC - wow, good job on the loss! Way to go! marie - good news about the doggie and I think it's great that you are spending time creating beautiful music. It must be very theraputic. |
Hi, everyone. My DS8 seems better and should hopefully go back to school on Monday. I did a calculation -- he missed 8 out of the last 13 days of school. Wow.
Marie I'm glad you made the derm. appt. I had a dr brush off what I thought was skin cancer, too, and I was right. GiveTLC congrats on your loss! DMC2009 I hope your depression lifts... If it's cold and rainy where you are (like it is here) that definitely doesn't help! GardenerJoy and LoserMom sunshine, WOW! enjoy! PresMaggie great NSV, being able to do your job more easily! Hydra no, I don't dress up to give out candy. But my sons keep trying to get me to wear a Star Trek dress... like that would ever happen! Remember those yellow mini-dresses that Ohura (sp?) used to wear?? |
Hi, everyone! I'm just checking in - it's cold but sunny and I HAVE to get some things done outside before I read all the notes. :) Went to a party last night, was "undisciplined", and I'm up 4 pounds in 1 day. I actually laughed at the scale. That's a big difference form last year! It'll be gone by Wed ... just gotta do what works.
NSV - I pulled out a pair of Land's End size 8 jeans that have been in the back of my closet since 1997 - yeah, 12 YEARS! Held 'em up, thought , hey, those don't look all THAT small ... and tried them on. Keep in mind, they're the relaxed fit with extra inches in the butt and thighs - but they went up, zipped and buttoned without a bit of trouble! |
Hydra, congratulations on meeting your Halloween goal. 30 pounds is fantastic. We’d love to see pictures.
Newleaf, I haven’t made the appt yet, but I researched what doctor to call tomorrow. We don’t have any derms locally (he died in a plane accident last year) so I have to travel over the mountain. I’m really pleased I’m going to make the appt and go because then I can stop looking at the mole and wonder. ICU, I’m just betting 4 pounds (aka 14000 calories) was not consumed last night. I bet it’s gone by tomorrow. Water weight and all. And way to go with the antique size 8’s and that was after 4 pounds of water weight! I did the icky and tried on all my sweaters. For some reason I thought sweaters were one size fits all. My stash went from about 15 sweaters to 6 and two are baggy but still look good. I realized a medium would probably be right after goal as well so I ordered 4 more sweaters from Kohls as well as two jean skirts and a pair of jeans. I really wanted to wait on the skirt and jeans but I look in the mirror and the baggy style is ugly. So I decided it was worth spending $200 on stuff so I wouldn’t think I should fill the clothes out. If anyone is interested in size large sweaters, size 12 jean skirts and jeans, let me know. There's also a size 14 jeans in olive, a 14 jean skirt (that fits more like a 12) and size 14 jeans in blue. If you’re willing to pay the shipping, I’m willing to give them to others in this constant size flux. If not, Goodwill will get them. I offer because a swap could help some of us. If you're interested, PM me and I'll take pics and let you all choose what you'd want. Marie |
I got a Karen Voight Pilates workout from Netflix and like it, so I went out and bought the Danskin Pilates circle from Walmart. I played around with it for a while and Hubby gave it the "let's see if I can break it' test. He couldn't but he got the pads to touch.
I've kept Hubby busy this weekend running me around trying to find some clothes. Just simple longsleeve shirts and sweaters. i finally found some nice things at JCPenny's and they had a sale! The St John's Bay brand is my favorite, they seem to run large also, always a bonus in my book. We got up this morning at 8am and it was in the 40"s but by the time we left for church an hour and half later it was in the 60's already. I walked out on the porch with my wool coat and hat on, walked back into the house, hung it all up while Hubby stripped off his coat also, and we left. Marie, On my exericse forum we have an 'Exchange". We post lists of what we have vs. what we want, and make trades through the PM system. {workout DVD for DVD, clothes, equipment, etc} It works very well. Cat, great avatar! congrats on the size 8! Hydra, sorry everyone is sick! Remember to take care of yourself too! |
Happy Monday Morning Ladies!!!
Thank you all so much for the compliments on the new avatar; I love the new dress it was made perfect for a "curvy" woman and does a GREAT job of hiding my number one problem area, the lower abdomen. Patch - Apparently I'm off to the mall today to find Mack some long sleeve tees. Yesterday when we went hiking he found one in his drawer that fit. Marie - What a sweet offer. ICU - WTG on the NSV!!! I know it's just a number and even in my case with vanity sizing it just feels good. Heidi - Glad DS is doing better. Hopefully the missed eight days won't put him too far behind. Maggie - Being able to keep up at work is an excellent NSV. Mack and I hiked yesterday; wanted to do one trail but the road was closed due to fire damage about 6 miles from the trailhead. Ended up doing a nice 6 miler with a total elevation gain of 1500' but it was a lot of up and down. It was a good workout and my knee did give me a bit of trouble but for the most part it felt really good. Mack is back to work today and I'm off to feed the dogs and hit the treadmill. Have a great day!!! |
Hi all,
Marie, that is so nice of you to offer your clothes to us. I am looking at a closet full of clothes that don't fit too, too small, too big or too something!
I am feeling a bit better, but the weekend got away from me. I even had some wine, I guess you could say I cut loose! I am back on plan tonight and did lots and lots of walkng today. I am only down to 9 weeks to lose lots, so its time to get serious! Talk to you all soon. How are you ONMYWAY??? |
Morning Ladies!
Hope your all doing well :) Son is home sick again today, so between playing nurse and housework...I don't have much time. Been staying OP as much as I can. My oldest son told me he wants to try out for wrestling and wants to do Leslie's workout too! He wants to start with the mile one. I told him great and that I'd be happy to do it with him before my 2 mile walk outside. He's really out of shape and I'm just so pleased that he's been watching my healthy new lifestyle and wants in on it. Maybe it's a good way to bridge that mother/teenager gap LoL May you all have an awesome day! Huggies, Giv |
