Another .5 down this morning. 1.0 to go (it's really 1.5 cuz I want to bust the 150's), and it will probably take every bit of the month to get there, at my rate. :)

Dancer - congrats on the run! Isn't it a thrill to do something again that you did in your 20's? Hope you have a GREAT time in SF!

inthemidst - I feel your congestion. I sacrificed my plan a couple days over that too.

hydra - well done on insisting that something good be added to the meeting! Were you able to resist the other stuff?

heidi - you're not going backwards, so it's all a win! When it's time to keep going, you know what it takes. And if you are happy where you are, own it and become a Maintainer! 3FC seems to be the huge key to success for me. It's taken me all year to lose my weight, and I have a famously short attention span. I've also failed numerous times when left to my own devices. I guess I'm destined to be a Member For Life, because being here helps me focus. Plus, I've really grown to like my "virtual friends" and I look forward to hearing what y'all are up to. :D

dancerindenver 10-09-2009 10:28 AM

ICU - I continue to be amazed at how much 3FC helps in the process, re-inspiring you, keeping you accountable, making you feel like you're not alone when you're having a hard time. It's interesting though who sticks around and who drops off. I wonder what the percentages are. I was looking at the Goal board and realized that there are not all that many pages of 'I met final goal' stories when you consider how many people are on here. Can't wait until we all have our stories up there though! ;)

ICUwishing 10-09-2009 10:53 AM

dancer - I've noticed the same thing! I wonder if a lot of them hit goal, think they're done, and relapse, then feel bad about coming back. I could see myself doing that! And yet those who come back after gaining again get the very same friendly welcome and support, so I don't understand why we stigmatize it so badly. What works for me seems to be right here - why fix what ain't broke? :) LOL, what I do need to do is to confine myself to a couple of threads, and quit spending HOURS cruising the whole site!

dancerindenver 10-09-2009 11:17 AM

ICU - I hear ya on that one - my health and fitness have definitely improved over the summer but my work productivity, not so much :o

inthemidst 10-09-2009 05:28 PM

Hi all,

Haven't eaten much today and feeling great. Do you find that sometimes you eat because you are supposed to?

Dancer: 5.6 miles :cheer2: :cheer: Have fun in SF!
ICU: Nice loss!!!! :bravo: I know that 1.5 will come off by the end of the month.

Hydra 10-10-2009 06:31 AM

newleaf - I can relate to getting tired of tracking your weight all the time. It's fine to take a break but I think the overall healthy eating that we all are doing is the most important thing.

inthemidst - I hope you are feeling much better.

dancerindenver - Wow, have fun in San Francisco. What a great city.

icu - how nice to be saying goodbye to the 150s! At that luncheon I was able to resist the fatty salty snacks, I stuck to fresh fruit and I must confess I did eat 8 hershey kisses....now how did that happen?

Everyone is doing such a great job on this challenge. Halloween is in three weeks. October seems to be flying right by me. I am planning on having a costume party on the 30th. I plan to have a veggie tray, fruit tray, fat free pretzels and the old standard, chips with dip. I think I will buy a case of bottled water too to have and some soda.

inthemidst 10-10-2009 02:43 PM

Hi all,

Thanks Hydra. I am feeling better. Sounds like you'll have some great choices for your party. What is your costume?

Lost 0.5lbs so I am glad to be moving down again. Anything under 175 will be a win, I figure. But I am trying for 172.

ICUwishing 10-12-2009 11:54 AM

No scale moves. Nothing to report - I'm going back to the pool tonight.

gardenerjoy 10-12-2009 04:22 PM

I'm three and a half pounds above my goal for Halloween, which is less than three weeks a way. That's ambitious for me, but I'll give it a shot!

ICUwishing 10-13-2009 07:04 PM

Done deal! Saw the 150.0 for the first time today in something like 8 or 9 years! Although I saw 149.5 today at the doctor's office (with clothes, too!) and now I know my scale is 2.5 pounds heavy ... I still need to see it on my scale before I declare victory. :) It's a big day for me. THANK YOU ALL for the support and companionship! We succeed TOGETHER!!!!

sukierd 10-13-2009 07:10 PM

WoooooHooooo! ICU.....awesome job of meeting your goal. What a treat to be lower at the doctor's office, never seems like it works that way! ;)

inthemidst 10-13-2009 07:18 PM

:congrat: ICU

inthemidst 10-14-2009 06:25 AM

Hey Chickies,

Stating day 4 binge free. Happy Happy Happy! Still at 178 (3 days now) but hope to see some movement soon.

Wishing us all a successful day! :carrot:

Onmyway 10-14-2009 07:35 AM

Haven't been posting on this thread in quite a while. I've been in a funk lately but have been back on track the last couple of days. if I can scare off a couple pounds by Halloween I'll be happy. Keep up the good work ladies!

ICU, You are way to hard on yourself, give yourself credit for the Drs. weight! You deserve it!

ICUwishing 10-14-2009 09:25 AM

Everyone, thanks for the woo-hoo's! I'm on a post-TOM whoosh - I'd have to say that's the ONLY positive I can ascribe to TOM, eh? :D Hope to get one more day out of it.

OMW - glad to have you back, and there's plenty of time to "scare off a couple". It's only the 14th! I know those funks well - the best medicine is getting back to treating yourself as best you can with being on plan. The plan works - work the plan! And yes, KNOWING that scale is heavy is serious icing on the cake ... but my scale is my daily buddy and I only see the doctor twice a year ... and I ain't gonna move that starting weight. :)

hydra - I wanna know too - what are you going to be? Sounds like you have a good plan for the party! I just hope you aren't like me with chips and dip - I really can't handle them at ALL. Baked chips and salsa - that's OK, but oh man, French Onion dip and Ruffles - that's binge material. For me, that'd be the scariest part of Halloween!

midst - GREAT job with the 4 days! I empathize with you, and know that some days are real fingernail-biters. Hang tough - it IS beatable, and if you can string a few months together, I promise, the urge will pass. I used to be a regular on the Chicks In Control threads, and I did learn a lot there.

sukierd - thanks! I was totally surprised to see it - I even checked the calibration sticker. :D The tough part is going to be NOT having a little part of brain reserving that knowledge as "acceptable tolerance" once I decide to maintain.
