supplements at our age?

Hi all,

I hope it's alright to post this question here as we're all around the same age.

To be honest, I knew very, very little about good nutrition when I came to this site. I've learned a lot, but I have such a long way to go.

I was just wondering, in a nutshell, what nutritional suppliments you have started taking now that you're in your 40s?

I've been taking:

One A Day Women's vitamin
1200 mgs of Caltrate + vitamin D

I deal with plantar fasciitis and have been noticing that my joints are sort of creaking and aching at times. Surely, i *MUST* be mistaken! I'm not really that old am I? :^:

Are there any SAFE suppliments to take for either of these problems? Are there suppliments I should be taking just because I'm heading into middle age?

I know that opinions vary on this topic. I guess I'm just interested in what you think and what you've found that works for you.

If you're still reading and have some input, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks so much!

You might try glucosmine chondroitin (sp). It helps with joints. Plantar usually responds well to a change in foot wear. More supportive shoes for the hard surfaces we walk on all the time. I was taken out of Berki's and put in NB tennis shoes because of Plantar.

Thanks, Darlene.

I've definitely had to change shoes, but I still deal with heel pain. It is better than it used to be, because I'm losing weight. But, exercise does irritate.

I've heard of glucosamine for joints, but I don't know anything about dosage. I know I can look it up on the net. I was just hoping for some personal insights.

Thanks for responding, Darlene. I appreciate it!
