44 feeling like 64

I'm new to the forum. I'm 44, but feel older. About 5 yrs. ago, I joined ww and lost 40 lbs. I stopped going to meetings and it all came back + 10 more.
I'm having a hard time getting back into doing the "right thing". It's hard, my husband loves to cook :chef: and I am one of those who feels I have to "clean" my plate every meal. :hun: My husband loves me just the way I am, so it's hard to get support from him. I'm ready to start over and I'm thinking of detox with water, fruits etc. It's nice to have 3FC to come to for support.
I'll let you know how it goes!:cb::broc:

I am new to the forum too. Only 2 days in. I am also about your age. I turn 41 in less than a month. You can do this. I know that it is hard, but you can. There seems to be a lot of help, ideas and words of encouragement around 3FC so look around and find something that will work for you.

Let me know how it all goes for you!;)

Welcome to both of you! And, like Clydegirl, I'm inviting you to join in on the chat thread. Lots of great people there with lots of great support!

Hi to both of you, and welcome! You can do it. We're all in this together, and that makes a big difference!

Thanks so much for all the support. I will keep everyone posted. I went to a bridal shower today and didn't partake in any of the food!!! (not even the yummy cake) I came home and started drinking water. Guess I'm on my way!

Tigerlady48 thanks for the kind words. Together we can do it!!!

Hi Ntregme! Welcome to the group.

I'm new, too, i just joined a couple days ago, and i'm from KS, too! (Western) I'm still figuring out this site. It seems very supportive and full of good ideas!

If you've done this before, you know what you need to do and you know you can do it!! Good luck and keep in touch!

Tru :)

Hello fellow Kansan,
Thanks for the words of encouragement. It was so easy before, I don't know why it seems to be harder this time. I know I can do it, it's amazing to see so many others on this site who have obviously worked so hard and with great success. I am excited about this, just have to keep reminding myself "It's not a quick fix" and to stick with it.
Good luch to you also.

Guess I should also explain why I feel 64. I have fibromyalgia. I went to the
dieting with obstacles and read some of the fibro "threads". Didn't find a lot of chat on the subject, although I must admit, not something I want to talk about much. I am on medication that has helped tremendously, but just can't seem to get past the fatigue. :dz: That is another reason I need to change my eating habits, because I know it will help me.

Welcome to the new ones, sending founts of encouragement your way. I have felt older than my years for years now and am on my way to feeling younger. My back is already better than it was.

Ntregme,

I know the feelin'! I am 42 and I feel your pain. I am new to this site, actually this is the first one I've decided to become a member of. I too lost 40 lbs a few years ago, and felt wonderful. I had the money to hire a private trainer and worked like hect to get the weight off. I am finding it harder than ever to get focused and make the sacrifice and adjustment for this new like i want to have. If anyone has tips, i would be willing to hear them.

I just read that you are suffering from Fibromyalgia; my sister suffers terribly, so I understand why it's hard for you. Hopefully, we can be of help to each other through this struggle.

Welcome to the site Janelle. You will find so many tips on the site.
This journey of ours should be a little bit easier with all of this support.
Good luck to you.

I'm new too! And I feel so encouraged! It's so good to see the numbers that other members are showing. Makes me believe that I can do it too. Yay:D

Just popping in to say hi to all the newbies in here. Together we can all achieve our goals. I just started a new 40's thread. I know jumping in on a
20+ page thread can seem so daunting. Come on along, share your story, there are a lot of really supportive women floating around in these 40's posts. Good luck!
