Newbie here

  • Hi, all-I just registered on this site the other day, but I've been reading the threads for some time. It has been so helpful! I'm 48 y.o. and have been on LA Weight Loss for over a year and have reached my goal in the past month! That's 63+ pounds lost-actually I had lost some weight before LAWL, so I'm down about 100 lbs. from my highest lifetime weight. I just wanted to say that I appreciate all that I've learned on this site!
  • Congratulations!!! You have come SO far and i know we are ALL proud
  • Thanks so much-for me it came down to planning and not getting caught "off guard" with food I didn't need to eat.
  • WOW!

You are a wonderful inspiration!!! 100+ lbs. ... that is awesome!

So now that you've lost all the weight, NOW you come here *grin*!! I'm just teasing!

Other than LAWL and planning, do you have any other tips you'd like to share? Were you doing any exercise? What kind?

You must be so very proud of yourself!! I hope you'll come chat in the Chat thread here!
  • Wow! Good job on the weight loss! Welcome to the forum!
  • Good job! I am so proud of you! *hugs* to you and a pat on the back!
  • Thanks everyone! Wish I had found this sooner! I think that what worked for me best is that I went into the whole thing with the idea of full commitment. I decided "cheating" was not an option and then realized I didn't have to cheat. The program I am on allows just about anything I liked, but I needed to prepare it differently (less butter, etc.) and eat in moderation (i.e. a smaller portion of steak, for example, eaten once a week instead of 3 times a week.) My new hobby became taking all the foods I really love and "converting" them to fit into my program. That way I wasn't stuck with dried out boneless, skinless, flavorless chicken breast every day-I could convert it to chicken parmesan! That really has kept me motivated.
  • Hi everybody! Like PJS145, I've been watching this site for awhile. It's been quite interesting to hear everyone's story. Unlike PJS145, I've been spiraling for the past few years. Managed to gain 30# in two years. I think it's part physical problems and part mental. Anyway, I'm drawn to the family you have here and hope I can find the inspiration I need to get back into good health.
