Default Timing of breakfast question

I've been reading about how we are supposed to eat our breakfast within 30 minutes of rising.
Does anyone know if this is an IP rule? No one told me, although it makes some sense.
It is hard to do though. Especially on phase 3 when you get to have alot for breakfast...you want to prep it all and then actually savor eating the delights. It's hard to do that when you're getting the kids out the door for school.
After they leave it's much easier to relax and enjoy a healthy meal. Thoughts?

Thanks.

This isn't just an IP thing. From what I've read, your metabolism increases with your morning meal, and helps you to set the day off right. Postponing breakfast generally tends to create more hunger throughout the day as well.

This should help:

Maybe you could try moving one of your snacks from throughout the day to early morning. If you have something quick first thing, then you can sit down to enjoy your breakfast an hour or two later.

When we are up moving around in the morning without having eaten in many hours, this is perceived as a stressor by the body and causes the release of cortisol, which in turn drives up the insulin level. This makes the bodytend to store instead of burn fat, which is why it is recommended that we eat within 30 minutes of getting up. It keeps that cycle from ever getting started.

I get up about 5:15 and get straight in the shower and ready for work. I drink my shake in my coffee at 7 once I get to work. I mix it as soon as I clock in. Is this soon enough?

Hmmmm, I sure hope it's soon enough! I am on thyroid meds and can't eat for an hour after I take meds which means I dont' get to have coffee or eat for at least an hour after I get up. I'd love to hear more on this.....anyone, anyone....

Me too and it is now recommended 4 hour wait if you eat soy products and if you take calcium supplements. I go to the bathroom around 3:30- 4 am, so I leave my thyroid pill by the sink and take it then, so when I get up I can eat breakfast right of way.

I don't eat right away either, I never have. The only time I have ever been able to get up and eat is when I was training for a marathon. I usually get up and get ready for work first and eat 1-2 hours after waking.

I don't know if it would help my losses to eat right away, but I just can't stomach getting up and having something in my system right away. So for now, I am continuing doing what I am doing.
