Starting "last chance workout" 6-week program--anyone want to join me?
I plan on starting the last chance workout dvd on Monday (I'm wierd when it comes to starting new things---day one is Monday, so I HAVE to start on Monday!!! I'm a little OCD when it comes to things like that).
I started watching the dvd last night to get an idea of what I'll be doing with my body. I have VERY POOR coordination, so I usually watch the program first or I can't keep up at all. I like this one, because the people doing it aren't perfect--the twin on the right makes me happy, because she doesn't seem all that coordinated either. She can't do the "split" jumping jacks I know I'll be having that same problem.
Anyhoo--My goal is to go the whole 6 weeks as laid out on the dvd. I'll record my starting weight here on Monday and then update each Monday thereafter throughout the 6 weeks.
Doesn't have to be the last chance workout--any old program will do! I'm going to set up my 6 weeks right now, so they'll be together & easier for me to keep up with!
I'm taking exact measurements for myself at home, but for the sake of ease, I'm only recording bra size & jean size here. Not buying new clothes for all changes during the 6 weeks (oh, I HOPE there are some changes!!), but using measurements to calculate what bra & jean size would be.
Weight: 243.2 (I totally did this to my self..... I set a goal to lose 5 lbs. by Sept. 26 and for some reason anytime I set a goal I fail to meet it!! This is the first week since July 25th that I have lost NOTHING)
This morning was even harder than yesterday--not necessarily the work-out, I can tell I'm getting better with that--but with my mindset.
I was up from around 3-4 a.m. with the 19-month-old, and then it was hard to turn right around and get up & work out. I was later than normal and my sister/baby-sitter came in right toward the end and started criticizing everything about the program--Jillian, the "contestants," etc. I know she wasn't judging ME, per se, but it felt like it, because that's the workout I'm choosing to do.
Since I was running later than normal anyway, I said "forget it!" and skipped the cool down.
Did good yesterday--I can definately tell that my endurance is getting better! That's the good news.
The bad news is that I skipped today's workout. I wasn't a conscious decision on my part. I slept through my alarm and woke up 15 minutes before 7:00. I usually leave for work between 7:15 and 7:30, so there was no way I could work in a 30-40 minute workout. I may try to do it tonight after the kids are in bed. "TRY"
Side note: if anyone happens to be reading this who knows--how can I strengthen my wrists for when it's push-up time? I really feel like I could do better push ups if it didn't hurt my wrists so much.
Updated my stats. I lost 1.2 pounds, which was kind of disappointing, but 8.5inches all together, so at least I'm seeing some results!
This morning, since I'm still having trouble with the lower-body cardio, when the video was having us do the leg work in plank position, I just held the plank position for the 30 seconds. I did that three times and my arms and core were screaming. Hopefully, if I can get those muscle groups built up some I'll be able to do the full cardio by the end of week 2--including full-fledged jumping jacks.
I'm beginning to consider repeating weeks 1 & 2 with "full cardio" before moving on to weeks 3 & 4.
