Smile In desperate need for help from experienced dieters!

Hi girls and guys,

always been on the slightly bigger side and lost 10kg + last year but regained all of that weight back a couple of months ago due to stress (final year at university). I'm looking to lose at least 5-10kg (10lbs - 20 lbs) until mid-October and I was wondering which diet could give me those results.

I thought about trying South Beach (which I started many times but didn't really stick to) - would you recommend it?

I am aware that bigger dieters would lose more going on an extreme diet such as SB - as I am not looking to lose a lot and don't weight that much more than I should (I'm 1.63cm and currently weigh 68kg), I was wondering if there is any other diet you would suggest?

Thanks for your help.

Hi - I have lost nearly 25 lbs now over nearly three months simply by calorie counting. I have recently started to exercise but that is more for the health benefits rather than weight lose.

Calories counting works for me because it's not too much work and I can still eat a healthy balanced diet so don't have to worry about the side effects of some of the other diets. It is more a
lifestyle change than a short lived restriction of certain food groups. I am also quiet disorganized so know I wouldn't stick to something more restrictive!

But no doubt others will have great advice and great experiences of other diets!

Calorie counting + exercise has worked wonders for me (just look at my ticker!). Like Michelle2008 there's no way I could restrict myself to a particular diet.

I love food. Calorie counting allows me to enjoy it while still losing weight.

seeing as you arent technically overweight at 5'4 and 149 pounds, it is giong to be extrememly difficult to lose fat very quickly... it just is.. im sorry to be the bearer of bad news
perhaps something ketogenic, like ideal protein would be good for you
There is a Forum for IP diet under "Carb Counters"

Good luck!
