Question Drop a pants size?

I'm a size 6 petite... but they're big on me but a size 4 petite is too small. How many lbs do you need to lose to drop a pants size? 10lbs? assuming no muscle is gained. you're JUST losing fat.

It's different for different people, but I think in the 20 pound range is normal. I started at 196 in a tight size 12, and I'm down to a 10 at 165.

In my experience, the lighter you get, the less weight you must lose in order to drop a size. At 155 I wore an 8, but now at 130 I wear a 2 or a 4.

The higher the pant size, the more weight you need to drop to drop a pant size.

That is so varied.

Not only does it depend on the amount of weight lost, but where it's lost. No two people are identical in that.

Could be 5 pounds for one person, could be 20 for another. There's no way to tell exactly.

And, of course, the more a person weighs, usually the longer it takes to get to a new size.

I'm definitely noticing this. Another reason I'm not buying fall/winter clothes any time soon - not till i need them. I don't want to guess wrong!

Yea it really depends on lots of factors! Sorry!
I'm like you though. I'm between an (english) size 12 and size 10. Size 10 are cutting off circulation, but size 12 give me a really baggy and unattractive bum. Can't wait until I don't look like I'm about to rip my jeans open! :P

Like others said, it really, really depends.

Just to give you an example...

During the lower 190's I lost A LOT of inches around my Bust/Waist/Hips and went down a pant size within a few pounds.

I'm now in the mid-180's and have since lost pretty much nothing from my B/W/H but have lost waist around my arms/thighs.

Somehow my body has a program for weight loss and apparently it was best for my body to go B/W/H and then arms/thighs. Who knows what will happen next!

ETA: You might want to look in different brands too for a better fight. I wear between a 10-12. I have some 12's that fall right off me and another one that fits well on the butt/thighs but still cuts into my waist some. They're two different brands and are cut very differently.
