home ALL day... distract me from food!
hey everyone...
i'm off work all this week to rest my ankle that is home to a torn ligament. i work at a hardware store with the concrete floor, so i needed a break from all the standing and walking around.
the problem is, i'm now sitting at home all day with all this food in front of me to snack on. i've got a plate with some carrots, broccoli, celery and light ranch dressing in front of me and i'm trying to limit my snacking to that, but there is a candy dish of hershey kisses over on the coffee table and tons of yummy leftover food in my fridge that suddenly seems like ambrosia!
i have a chatroom created here: http://tinychat.com/3fc (all you need is to enter the ID you want to use to get in) for live chat distraction...
and i'll be checking back frequently because message boards always distract me.
veggies and water, not chocolate and soda. *focus!*

You can do it!
If you're able, I'd toss the chocolate up into a cabinet for the day. Out of sight out of mind.

Sounds to me like you need to get your hands busy, k0nfyo0zed --- knitting, embroidery, sketching, writing letters, planning a garden on paper, cleaning out a drawer, blogging, putting together your personalized cookbook from online recipes, crank up some tunes and sit-dance .... It's really hard for a person who is normally active like you to just sit! LOL
I love the book idea --- and in fact, have read a lot of the Anita Blake books and at least 2 of the Merry series --- but for me, reading and noshing are very strongly linked. My most mindless eating takes place while I read. If you don't have that problem, then losing yourself in the problems of a Sidhe princess might be the perfect solution.
Don't forget your water. And I hope your ankle improves rapidly.

Mandy -- You are not going to thank me for this later, but try this word association game. You just enter guesses for any word related to the words that you have already revealed. It's fun, helps pass time and is completely maddening. I've spent waaaay too much time on this in the past. I think I was working on this when I was pregnant in the period between when I finished working and when I had the baby. Anyway, enjoy!
