Talking NSV - the boys in the band noticed!

I went to an Irish festival this weekend, to see the band I go to Ireland with, and meet up with some out-of-state friends I've met on the Ireland trip. I last saw these people in early April, right before I started losing weight. Not only did one of the (skinny) girls notice I'd lost weight, one of the boys in the band noticed, too! These guys are on the road 200 days a year, talk to hundreds of fans every week, and he noticed that I've lost 37 pounds since I saw him 2 1/2 months ago! I literally did a happy dance in the hotel room that night!

Thanks for listening!

That is awesome!!!! I am actually a little envious...i hadn't seen some mutual friends since february when I started losing weight and saw them for the first time 2 weeks after losing about 40lbs and no one noticed, its not like I expected to hear anything but I don't know not even my best friend that sees me daily noticed. :\ if anyone did notice, they didn't say. BUT congrats to you and I keep up the great work!

Sometimes it's hard for people to notice when they see you every day, just like it's hard for us to see changes when we look at ourselves every day in the mirror.

Keep up the good work to both of you!

Honestly, even if I notice someone has lost, I'm not going to say "Omg you lost so much weight!" since I'm worried it might be a sensitive topic. If it's really an impressive difference I might try to edge around it like "Oh I love those jeans!" or something. So... it might be that they noticed but didn't want to bring it up.

Congrats on your loss!!

Thanks, girls!

What made it better is that while I was hoping someone would notice, I was not expecting it. Other than a few friends at work who know what I'm up to, hardly anyone there has noticed, and I'm OK with that. They see me every day, how could they see it?

Still doing the happy dance!

Congrats to you, keep up the good work! MY2CATS, I never mention weight loss to people either, because it's definitely a sensitive topic for me. I don't mind discussing it with close friends and family, but when others mention it, it makes me uncomfortable. I usually just mention that they are looking good and ask what they're doing differently. I let them bring up weight loss if they want to.
