Default New to Forum - learning as I go

I just joined 3FC today. I thought it would be a good idea if I joined the 30 something forum as well.

Looking for any advice, tips, incentive to help lose the same 20 lbs that will not go away. At this age, I don't lose weight nearly as easily as I used to, the whole shape of my body is changing and the exercise I used to do is simply not working.

I'm giving it a good go. I'm trying to stick to 1200 calories/day, go easy on the carbs (breads, etc) and eat healthy and wise. I'm trying to change up my fitness activities as well. It's only been a couple weeks and I don't have results yet...but I REALLY hope with the support and motivation of a group, I can finally get into my skinny jeans!!!! It's been TOO long!

Welcome to the boards!

12K seems really low to me, with 20lbs to lose I'd think you should be eating more and really focussing on the exercise. But thats just IMHO.

Thanks, jitterfish, for your response!!! How many calories do you think I should be consuming? I know they should be good calories, regardless, but...it's just so confusing. All I hear about is calories in, calories out. Try to eat healthy calories and exercise etc...etc.....

I'll take any advice. I've been stuck and struggling at this weight for 2 years!! It's not the weight I'm even concerned with - it's where it is and where I carry it. Truly IMPOSSIBLE to buy clothes.

It all depends on how much you weigh now/height/level of activity. But the reason I posted it was when I first started trying to reduce my weight I saw a nutritionist and she said that for most people they shouldn't go beneath 1500 unless they were doing no exercise at all. And I gather from your post you are exercising. Its only IMHO though, I was hoping others would chip in.

Why did you select 1200? Have you already lost weight prior to reaching 146 and if so how much?
